I got some text messages from a girl that I was a councilor to at church camp a few years back. Expressed an interest in going on a date. However, she's a senior in high school. She's cute, sweet, and pretty. Fadedsun is a Sophomore in College.

As the TFK song goes, "I Want the truth!"

HELL NO! You aint robbing the cradle.

All your doing is getting to her before some zit-face, garlic-breath, snot-nosed punk can.

But bro.  Serious.  Don't bother with that.  Sure the body is prime but the brain is VERY under-developed.  If you can handle the young brain, well more power to ya.

Senior in high school and sophmore in college is no problem age-wise (unless you are back in college after a 20-year career in something else)

The only thing that even tingled my red flag was that you were a councilor (sp?) to her in a camp.  While you are no longer in a relationship like that, it might be a little iffy - but that's a bit of a stretch.  Then again, I know several professors that are happily married to former students, so I guess it doesn't have to be a problem.

That makes her about 17 and you are about 19?
Only two years of difference so no big deal... go for it.

BTW my wife is 7 years younger than me

What brings up warning flags is the possibility that she might not be ready for a real relationship. I've got 3 years on her-I'm 20, she's 17. I'm pretty sure she could use a more mature guy in her life than the morons she's dated.

Yeah, I need some naked pictures of her for evaluation. A video of her stripping may yield even sooner results.

Seriously, if she's 18 and you're under 24 I think it's acceptable.

If she's mentally mature enough to be a booty-call chick, then go for it. You certainly don't want to be getting into a relationship with a girl that young. Do you really want to be going to her Prom?

Check it out carefully. Stalkers aren't fun.

You are 20 and you think you are ready for a serious relationship?
Now looking back it is amazing how much I didn't know when I was 20

If she's in the habit of dating morons, you'll want to stay away from her.

I met my wife when I was 20, she was 17. When we were married, I was 22 and she was almost 19. We've been married a long time and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

You have to know if you are emotionally mature enough to handle marriage, if you take it that far. Other than putting a ring on her finger down on the isle, what's the problem? There isn't the same commitment as getting married. If you want a serious relationship and think you are ready, go for it. You can aways learn from it and can always part ways if it doesn't work out. If you get married, I personally, would suggest taking it WAY more seriously. Dating and getting serious is a lot different than when you are married.

Just go out with the girl, you have no idea what could happen. You might enjoy her company.

I don't have a problem going to her prom. I've been the prom date of many freshman HS girls before.

I've also dealt with stalkers before. Fun.

The five I know (or know of) are all in business schools.  Three married MBA students, and two married Ph.D. students.  Which I suppose is somewhat less disturbing than undergraduates!
