[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Official UFC 99 Thread...maybe (Page 1 of 3)
| my funniest ever training story was sparring with Spencer Fisher. he hit me with an uppercut that scattered my brain like nothing I ever experienced. I wobbled and immediately he went "whoa, you ok?" and steadied me with his hands on my shoulders. it was just enough to clear my head and I said "yeah?" and we went back to sparring. |

UFC 99 Main Card Bouts: -Wanderlei Silva (32-9-1; #8 Light Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Rich Franklin (24-4) This is pretty much "do or die" for these two. -Cain Velasquez (5-0) vs. Cheick Kongo (14-4-1) Velasquez is on a tear, him by other than decision. -Spencer Fisher (22-4) vs. Caol Uno (25-11-4) I'll take Fisher on this one -Mike Swick (13-3) vs. Ben Saunders (8-1-2) Swick in 3? -Marcus Davis (16-5) vs. Dan Hardy (21-6) This one has alot of potential -Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic (24-6-2) vs. Mustapha Al-Turk (6-4) CroCop returns to the octagon against a second rate Al-Turk The red text is from marktheshark as well. Always pulling for Wanderlei, but I think Franklin takes it Have faith, Wanderlei can pull it off. I don't think Franklin has the power to hurt him, and he has trouble with good strikers. Could go either way, I think either of these guy has the power to hurt each other. Franklin has a bad ass body kick. I think he should use it. |

I just think he's a little gun shy after the Anderson Silva fights, and that's not a criticism. It happens, and it's hard to get past. |

Wanderlei has had one of the most brutal careers of any fighter on planet earth. I think his first was when he was about 13, and old school Vale Tudo. Bare knuckles, head butts, stomps, soccer kicks etc. He has been totally shut off in 4 of his last 6 fights. I hate to see him like this, but it may be time to hang them up. |

Edit: The big hairy turk is not in the same leauge as Cro Cop |

I wanted Cro Cop to win, but the way it happened sucks, especially since he was kicking the guy's ass anyway. Accidentally poked him in the eye when he was shooting in to throw a punch on Cro Cop. Cro Cop was dominating too, that's highly unfortunate but he would have won either way aside from a fluke. |

I don't even think he landed the body kicks he threw. He did rock him in the face with his gloves though. Almost TKO'ed him. |
