Hello Arfcom,

I was sitting here browsing arfcom and leaned back in my chair and *pop* a bolt sheared off and went flying out of my chair. The bolt is special (IE not repairable/ replaceable by me) and helped control the back adjustment, which now doesn't work (IE it doesn't stay put /upright anymore).

I was thinking about JB welding the bolt back together but I cant get the half still in the chair out at the moment, and I don't really feel like taking the whole thing apart right now to find out if it will come out.

I am primarily looking for something comfortable, and adjustable. My budget is around $100 max, which  I realize is kind of low for a nice office chair, but I'm low on cash.

Anyone have any office char recommendations?

Check out companies that are going out of business in your area and you can get some great deals.  I got my wife a $600+ office chair for $80 from a dental office that was closing.  The chair was still in the original box and wasn't even assembled yet.

Hmm cool idea.  Especially after looking at chair prices online... damn some of these things get expensive!

I have a nice leather office chair i bought myself.....but for the lowly peons that work for me, they have to make do with the Sams Clubs office chairs.

I think the Sams chairs are more comfortable.....but I'm not going to admit it to them.

J/k about the peons thing......they do WAY more work than me.

I sit in a $129 OfficeDepot run-of-the-mill chair. It's OK. Just go to the store and try them out. The chair I paid $129 for 18 month ago could probably be had for less than $100 today.

If you can afford it, get a Herman Miller Aeron chair.
