In this case, they are absolutely correct.  We're in a pandemic state with swine flu, and some idiots are still walking around, sneezing into their hands, and then grabbing doorknobs and shaking hands.

Good for her for correcting the NBC dictation specialist.

Well, you know how it goes.  We just can't take care of our own selves, and all of that.

No....that's why you wash your hands before you eat.  This administration gets more pompous everyday.

As opposed to unwashed Philistines in Texas who just sneeze into the air, and then brag about brisket!

You know, I keep hearing people saying swine flu is pandemic, but I have yet to encounter one single person infected with it. In fact, in the last four months, I've yet to encounter ANY unhealthy person. And how many have died in the US from it, three? Whoop-de-shit, that's less than most other flu strains kill in a year.

I have no problem with Sebelius pushing for a change in how we sneeze.   I'm a life long sneeze into my hander and in the past few weeks I've been trying to adopt the sneeze into my arm maneuver.  I'm almost to the point of it being reflex now.  This seems like common sense to me.

Heh, I was in a co-worker's office one day who is *super* paranoid about germs. Someone else was sitting at his computer while we watched and this guy goes aaaaaaahHHHHHHHHHHHHHCHOOOOOOO!!! right in his hands, then goes back to typing on on the keyboard.  The owner of the PC goes "Dude, you just sneezed in your hands and now you're touching my keyboard".  Sneezer guy says "It's OK, it's just allergies".  The next day sneezer guy (who worked for me) calls in sick.  So we call him on his original cop out and he says "I'm not really 'sick' it's just from smoking".  Riiight!

You see Obama really does care. Now what about those people in California who are starving because of that 2" fish?

Because "Pandemic" gets people's attention.

It has killed more than 3, but most of them were sick already with something else too.

Screw sneezing... I'm waiting for Barney Frank to show us how to put on a rubber with his mouth.

Try 678 at last count.

There are people on arfcom who have had it.

The WHO literally stopped counting in early July.

Well, now I'm doubting the 678 number.

CDC traces 364 deaths to influenza between August 30th and September 12th, in just two weeks.

Here's a CDC chart of the percentage of medical visits for influenza-like illnesses over the past three years, compared on a week to week basis, as of the week ending September 5th:

That's a very impressive chart, in my opinion.

At my son's pre-k a year ago, their motto was:

"Clean hands, dirty elbows."

They encouraged sneezing into the elbow region...as do I.  I also sneeze into my shirt often...

Sneezing on your hands is NASTY, and if I see it, I make a note not to touch anything they have ever touched...ever in their life...as they likely usualy sneeze into their hands...and probably did it ten times that day before you saw it happen...

If someone ever busted me out for that in front of my colleagues I would walk over and cough right in their face.  When you sneeze, your germs are shot into the air at like 200 MPH.  if you honestly think that by putting your elbow in front of your face is going to stop germs from spreading you're a bigger idiot than ODUMBO.  Germs spread through the air.  if a shirt sleeve is gonna stop them than why even use medicine.  Just put everyone in cotton fucking face masks.  The audacity of some fuckin people is amazing to me.

Now that being said I don't like to be sneezed on anymore than the next guy.  But if you run through your life worrying about every sneezze, cough, fart, whatever, just do us all a favor and enclose yourself in a bubble and SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!
