Apparently he is under pressure to appoint an "African American" and a "hispanic" to the SCOTUS

5/18/2009 8:08:52 PM EDT

He should appoint either The Rock or Tiger Woods.

Yes, I know they neither one is a mix of black and Hispanic.  Neither is liberal enough either.

I bet both are liberal enough. The Rock is gay and Tiger Woods I bet is as liberal as they come.

Not much of an accomplishment for them if they get their kind appointed through pressuring the president.

In entitlement-mentality revisionism, it is the culmination of years of hard-fought victories, and an accomplishment.

In short, you're right, but they of course will not see it that way.

Why not both? I mean really, just where does it say he actually has to limit the number of his appointments? The Constitution in a living, breathing, ever changing document, written by a bunch of dead white men who could never imagine the USA as it is now. It's only fair to have a balanced representation so why not allow him to assign more black, Hispanic, women, and heck, even an illegal alien or two to the panel?

"The Rock" is a very outspoken conservative who spoke at the GOP convention in 2000.

I don't care if the Obamanator appoints a frickin green Martian to the SCOTUS....all I care is that the next appointee has read and understands
the Contstitution and the supporting letters and articles that describe the true intentions of those that wrote it.

I want an appointee that will make all decisions based upon the Constitution and the clear guidlines it offers....not based upon their warm
and fuzzy needs to bend society to their vision of "whirled peas".

Spend a little time researching that and the nget back to us.

Pay special attention to what was not said in Tiger's speech and then pay particular attention to how the members of the Armed Forces of the Untited States are treated by Tiger Woods.

Not sure where you get your info but neither are gay.

The Rock is Republican and he spoke at the Republican Convention for George W. Both are very patriotic. Tiger Woods recently gave a speech honoring our soldiers and their sacrifices. He is from Orange county California, his father is ex-military and they would golf at the military golf course at Los Alamitos. Both are very good honorable Americans.

Below is the speech Tiger Woods gave on Sunday, Jan. 18, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. during the festivities for the presidential inauguration. It was originally printed on www.tigerwoods.com.

I grew up in a military family –– and my role models in life were my Mom and Dad, Lt. Colonel Earl Woods.

My dad was a Special Forces operator and many nights friends would visit our home. They represented every branch of service, and every rank. In my Dad, and in those guests, I saw first hand the dedication and commitment of those who serve. They come from every walk of life. From every part of our country. Time and again, across generations, they have defended our safety in the dark of night and far from home.

Each day –– and particularly on this historic day –– we honor the men and women in uniform who serve our country and protect our freedom. They travel to the dangerous corners of the world, and we must remember that for every person who is in uniform, there are families who wait for them to come home safely.

I am honored that the military is such an important part, not just of my personal life, but of my professional life as well. The golf tournament we do each year here in Washington is a testament to those unsung heroes. I am the son of a man who dedicated his life to his country, family and the military, and I am a better person for it.

In the summer of 1864, Abraham Lincoln, the man whose memorial we stand, spoke to the 164th Ohio Regiment and said:

"I am greatly obliged to you, and to all who have come forward at the call of their country."

Just as they have stood tall for our country –– we must always stand by and support the men and women in uniform and their families.

The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) is a stand-up guy and although he gave a speech for the RNC, he is Canadian.

Funny story about him - he ate at my dad's restaurant maybe 7  years ago. This was a fine-dining restaurant. He showed up with two bodyguards.

From Al (teh wight manz is holdin me downz) sharpton and the La Raza crue. The ones who bought obingo's way into the white house. They convinced all the hispanic immigrants and bums of every color to vote for the . . . ~cough, cough, gag~. . . savior and now they want their way as payment for that. Welcome to the new democratic process.

He does have options, he can appoint a lesbian, black, Hispanic, liberal.  Given all of the blacks in the central and south America, this should not be hard.  If he runs into problems, he can call his buddy Chavez, for a recommendation. That way all of his supporters will be happy.

He doesn't wear it on his sleeve and doesn't use his position to pontificate.  He just plays good golf and makes a little on the side pushing products.

The Rock is a Republican and was a supporter of both Bush and McCain. Also gave a bunch of money to the Repubs. Enough so that he has pissed off a large segment of Hollywood. Wonder how that has impacted his career.

I believe that Tiger Woods is also a Republican.

FDR certainly agreed with you. No need to pay ANY attention at all to that old, idiotic document written over 200 years ago by a bunch of slave owning white males. Just make it up as you go along, like FDR and Wilson did.

I couldn't care less about gender or race for the SCOTUS, I only care if they stick to the document says, nothing more, nothing less.
However, a minority pick is about guaranteed, and a minority approved by the Democrats is surely going to be as liberal as humanly possible.

Scouter voted with the minority in the Heller case, so at least if a total liberal is voted into the Supreme Court, that shouldn't change too much.

I always thought that a supreme court justice should be the most qualified person (white, black, hispanic, asian) who knows enough about law and the constitution that they can hear cases to determine whether a law or lower court ruling was constitutional.

Funny... I've been wrong all these years.  its about appeasing social actavists...
