I actually don't make a practice of using slurs but concerning DUs use of the term "chimpy" to defame our sitting president I had wondered what would occur if the same (exact same, mind you) term were applied to their dear leader. There is enough factual ammo out there regarding Obama that no one should even need to resort to racial slurs - plus it's just plain wrong to do so.

As an aside, a few years ago I was in Walmart, and a guy called me a honkey chicken farmer -   I was sickitated for a long time afterward.  (thread in Archives)

So I guess when it comes to sports,  we'll have to talk about only badminton and hockey...and maybe curling, too.    Any other sports might be thought to have a racial bias to them.  

I kid, of course.

I don't do the racial slur thing.  I won't post stuff like that.   That doesn't mean I might not laugh at it,  but my sense of humor is very broad.

I think our good nature and morality puts at a severe disadvantage in today's climate. Basically we, the ones that refrain from all the name calling and the over  the top remarks frankly become easy to ignore and are marginalized, our pouts never get made and we lose elections. It takes a little more these days to grab a piece of the spot light and it is what as conservatives we are not doing.

I'd like to believe that, but I know better. Doesn't take much reading here to realize how many posters do not have the politically correct, non-racist viewpoint.

And, if were are better than that, we wouldn't need to threaten bans to illustrate the point.

Lets not forget that political correctness is what has allowed all of these abuses over the years to get us where we are today.

We have to get use to speaking out again and saying what is on our mind without feeling that we will get our heads handed to us.

The racial slurs are starting at work too. In an industry where most of the "residents" are black, it's starting to make me uncomfrotable and I'm white (but not an 88er). If I open my yap to talk about our "dear leader", it sure as hell isn't because he's black. It's because he is a Marxist / Socialist! I don't give a damn about the color of the man's skin, but I do give a damn about his actions.

Obama was elected because of racism, but I've got more than enough reason to dislike him and his policies, long before it ever gets to race.

I think a lot of guys here need to let off steam. I wouldn't take that decompression as ban worthy, if they were usually known as solid.

I am coaching youth basketball, it is an excellent activity for ALL ages, races, sizes, etc..
