Preach on bruther!

They continue to "GIVE" OSU a title shot but try as they may they can't beat the SEC.

Maybe Georgia will get a chance to spank that ass next year!

Yeah Yeah... at least our fans are smart enough to make it home, and won't be spending the next week raping and pissing all over each other in the Superdome waiting for the .gov to bail them out.

Just great.  Now everything is going to be purple and gold around here for the next month.  There is a line outside of Academy Sporting Goods right now to buy LSU crap....line's as bad as Christmas lines.

How many times does it have to be said. SEC is the best and strongest conference there is. We have a Conference Championship (unlike Big 10 and PAC 10) and we grind each other into a pulp through regular season. THEN we go on to play in 9 bowl games and win 7 out of the 9 including the National Championship. For the second year in a row! SEC all the way baby!

Ha, it doesn't work that way. Just ask Auburn from the '06 season when they were the only ones to beat Florida. And other teams that had similar situations from previous years past.

Yeah, wonder why that is? It's easy to be the best in your conference when you only have one or two powerhouses like the PAC 10 and Big 10 do. And seriously, I can't respect any conference that doesn't have a conference championship. That's just lame.

What's that sayin? Oh yeah, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once and a while.

Listen, there are bound to be some losers in the SEC bowl games. Why? Because we've just spent all season playing OTHER SEC schools and everyone is dog ass tired and beat up. Still, I'd think a 7-2 bowl record in THIS season alone for the SEC is pretty evident of something, don't you?

Honestly I would have rooted for LSU anyways, but as a Husker fan I cheered with extra enthusiasm since Pelini is our next head coach.  SOB was Kevin Cosgrove ever a HORRIBLE defensive coordinator!!    Maybe Bo can restore some pride to our defense ater that abysmal 2007?

Anyways, enjoy the win LSU fans!

You know, I'd love to see how Columbus, Cleveland, or Cincinnati would fare if hit by a hurricane and was then flooded for 2-4 weeks.

Why is it that you have to shut down OSU's campus when playing in New Orleans? All the Louisiana folks gonna set fire to the stadium?

Get over yourself and accept that you aren't smarter, more civilized, or any better at football.

All of which should be pretty obvious at this point.

I'd be careful with that statement Les Miles and Bo Pelini are from NE Ohio as is Urban Meyer, Bob Stoops, Jim Tressel, and Mark Mangino I think the Northeast especially Ohio knows alot about football

Not that I support what that first guy said, but Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati ware not prepared for hurricanes like NOLA should have been... I live on and off in Florida, mostly during hurricane season and here they get hit by about 5 every other year it seems... Look at what happened after Andrew too.... nothing.

I think it's the SEC teams that are afraid to play a non-conference game against quality competition.

Conference championships are stupid, but not as stupid as the Big Ten's rotating nonsense.  A true round-robin schedule is the way to go.  Of the BCS conferences, only the Big East and Pac-10 do it right.  Everybody plays everybody, no championship game required.  In a perfect world, every conference would consist of 8 teams.  A 7-game round robin would be required, along with five non-conference games.  For BCS conferences, AT LEAST two of the five non-conference games should be against other BCS conference teams.

The SEC just played 9 non-conference games against BCS teams...  They went 7-2.  OSU (the ONLY real big 10 powerhouse) has lost 9 straight bowl games to SEC teams... Now i'm not sure, but i think those are also "out of conference" games...

i was thinking the same thing...  all that would result in (as much as our schools hate each other NoVa) is a top 10 comprised entirely of SEC teams (maybe a big 12 and USC in there also)

As a Husker fan, here are my (somewhat) neutral observations.

(1) SEC is probably the best conference this year, followed by the PAC 10, though the differences are less then the chest thumping would indicate.

(2) Big 10 was fairly mediocre this year.  Also, they didn't have a championship game like the ACC/Big 12/SEC, which may have been the reason Ohio State got in the big show for the past couple of years.  If all the major conference champs were two-loss teams USC would have likely gotten the nod, and it probably would have been a better match-up.  That being said, Ohio State returns multiple starters and will likely be a legit contender next year.

(3) Who's the best conference changes from year to year, especially as more and more good programs are combined into super-conferences.  Big 12, Big 10 (really 11), PAC 10, SEC, and ACC all have a lot of traditional powerhouses.  Big 12, for instance, has 5 former national champions (Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Texas A&M).  I don't know the exact number but the other major conferences all have lots of former number 1's in them.

(4) If Bo can do to Nebraska's D what he's done for LSU, ya'll are going to have to watch out in a couple of years.
