they had plenty of ammo.  Probably had at least  2 cases of 9mm Blazer Brass on the shelf.  Picked up 10 boxes.

Occasionally, I'll go in and they'll be out, but rarely.

Is the ammo shortage  mostly occurring on the coasts/large cities?

This is in Lincoln, NE,  BTW.

Wal-Mart in Gainesville TX has 3 boxes of .357 Sig (WWB) - and that is it for pistol ammo - not a single box of any other caliber - they did have 5 Federal .223 Value Packs (100 rds) @ 39.97

I have 3 Wal-Marts in a 30 minute drive from here.

I can be guaranteed that one specifically of these ALWAYS is well stocked on ammo.

Just left...they had 3 boxes of winchester high velocity 22 (the guy would sell me 2) and 5 boxes of Winchester 12 ga. OO buck (guy sold me 3). I'm in Houston now. Other than that....some 270, 223 WSSM, LOTS and LOTS of 40 cal. blazer, some 22 mini-mag, 17hmr, 30-30, and 20 ga. slugs. That's it.

Just got back from my Walmart.  Aside from the usual shotgun shells and .22-250, all they had was some misc .22 LR, .300 Win Mag and 7mm Rem mag.

So I picked up a couple boxes of 7 mag, 150 gr. Core Lokt's.  At $25 a box, it is about all I can afford to feed my Savage when I take her to the range.  I am not paying $40 a box for range ammo.

That's the story around here, the only handgun ammo they had on the shelf for over a month was .32 and that was gone last week. I did see two boxes of WWB .40 a week ago, that was the only handgun ammo they had. I haven't seen a box of .45 or 9mm in a Walmart since the beginning of the year and I have checked ten different Walmarts multiple times over the last few months. Haven't see a .223 value pack since thanksgiving.

Bought some mini-mags on my last trip as I was tired of leaving there empty handed.

As I was leaving another guy came up, saw the empty shelves, and started up a conversation with the walmart employee about all the damn hoarders.

I live in Springfield, MO.  We have 4 Wal Marts in town.  I stopped by one on the way home yesterday, just as a whim.  While they were out of .45, 9mm and Federal .22 bulk pack, they had 2-100 round boxes of WWB .40, 6-100 round boxes of .223, and 5 550 round boxes of Remington .22.  I decided to pick up the 223, 22, and 1 of the WWB 40 boxes.  I'm not sure what the other 3 Wal Mart stores in town look like.  I was at one of them last week (different store), and it was sold out of the calibers of interest to me (22 bulk, 100 box of 223, WWB in 40 and 45, 7.62x39, etc.)

Like mine earlier this evening.  The only centerfire they had a lot of was .25 ACP, 22-250 and .223 WSSM.  the guy behind the counter, who I have dealt with for years said it is going out as fast as it comes in.  BTW, the .223 WSSM was what they got in their first introductopry allotment and it never moved.  .  .25 ACP is evidence that very few folks still have any use for a virtually  obsolete caliber and 22-250 as an indication that there is little varmint shooting in the OC.

I went today:
0 9mm
0.45
1 box .357
1 box  357 Sig
1 box 40 S&W
6 boxes Federal .22 bulk pack
6 boxes Federal .223 bulk

I bought three .223, came back a little later and everything else was gone. The lady that runs the dept. told me she has a standing 90 case order on .223 100 rd packs and 9mm 100 rd packs. It's just not making it there.

Same here. The only thing I could buy that could possibly be used for defense that did not cost $2 a round was 12 ga holllowpoint slugs. Everything else was out.

I don't have any money to actually BUY ammo so this isn't a big issue for me right now. But when the components above the ammo handle dry up I'm gonna be crying.

Yes. Way to artistically include toe in the picture by way of reflection off of an empty ammo shelf. Very clever.

Until last weekend, here in north central Indiana, I could go to the local WM and pick up .22 bulk packs on a whim.  Last weekend I was in the store and bought the last 2 packs of Reminton 550ct that they had.  (no Federal).  There were a few boxes of centerfire rifle hunting rounds left and lots of shotgun shells.  Other than that...squat!  The next day we went 40 miles down the road to find the same except no .22 this time.

No, it is happening where people who want to be prepared live.

Which is why I'm screwed. Those darned LDS people (oh wait, I'm one of them) sure do love their guns. I can't even find .22 ammo here .

Went to Walmart this morning for another 6 brick grab of Fed Bulk and the sporting goods guy said he has fielded phone calls from people in CA and we are in WI.

She went on to say she once again got 3 more cases of Fed Bulk packs, and they are now selling out within 8 hours of receiving them. Also, she did say that they have been told that Fed .22LR bulk packs will have a new price that will not be 13.47.

I am going to venture to guess the price will more closely match the Remington Goldens at around 16 bucks per brick.
