I'm having some work don to the house, namely replacing a headder over the garage door.  My question is,, for the week that I will have no garage door, should I leave the light on to keep theives away, or off so as not to advertise?
Edited to add nice neighborhood and my next door neighbor is the Sheriff.

What about some sort of motion activated light?  I think I've seen some that will fit a standard light bulb socket.
