Its a species of "space insect" that often attach themselves to space shuttles as they return to earth. Its impossible to kill with fire.

Just found this guy on the back porch, I thought it was a grasshopper at first but it's taller and has crazier wings. I tried to pick it up to put it in my mouth get a better pic and it flew away like a dang bird.


My neighbor saw a bug like that once, two days later...dead.
