I saw some pics and my buddy claims that the 7-05 is a date I am guessing they are not dated because they are post ban so whats the point?

Pretty much all USGI mags are dated... All of the Okay (which is the USGI current MFG) I have seen lately are dated. We have ordered a little over 500 since the ban and they all have dates and no LE/MIL markings.

In your case the 7-05 is a mfg date.
In fact, I have magazines with date stamps before the ban was passed.

What is the point ? There are still states with capacity bans.

ETA: You probably would get a better response in the AR-15, magazines section.
