Apple is so innovative. what's next? pencils with a thing on the end that erases Turn by turn GPS hasn't been available for an iPhone because (IIRC) Google didn't code it that way for iOS. Now whether or not Apple had anything to do with that decision, I don't know. I've always had a third-party app that does turn-by-turn navigation on my iPhone. But my stand-alone GPS unit does a far better job than it, or anything Android offers. |

I'll follow along and see if any "Neva' been done befo'" stuff surfaces, They "could" announce a "Game Changer" so I will reserve comments until all info is out. BigDozer66 It's already announced and out. Here is a review to see if you like anything. Most awesome OS ever |
| Its sweet, siri actually works well now. Maps are very cool, though I haven't tried turn by turn navi yet. I downloaded the developer gold version, which i was told is the final release. Do Not Disturb mode is the best feature, you can turn calls off except for the people on your favorites list. |

Google maps is a big fat disappointment. |

Do Not Disturb seems cool. I hope they actually tied it to appointments in the calendar. They did not, it also only works for calls, so email and text will still ding through. Kind of wish it was fully customizable, but Apple has never been known for that. |

Quoted: I esp like the "reply to phone call w a text" feature I certainly hope that I don't regret shelling out the full, non-subsidized price for my new iPhone. After reading many such threads like this, I'm seeing iPhone owners getting excited over quite a few "features" that my last two phones already had. Too bad there's no such thing as "range phones", where you can try them out before you buy them. |

Been using it for a week (Gold Master Beta) and love it! Maps is great. Siri opened to more options. Love the instant text reply from an incoming call.
When you set "Do Not Disturb", do it in Notifications to set up the timeframe you don't want alerts. There's a "Do Not Disturb" in the main Settings area. That is to set it for "right now" until I turn it back on. Pretty cool having Siri on the iPad3. ETA: The only issue I had was that I lost my custom ringtones. I had the sync option turned of in iTunes for some reason. Turned it back on and have them back now but have to add them to the individuals again. Other than that, it's been solid, fast and battery life seems to be about the same if not a bit better on the iPhone 4s. |

I'll be holding off for a few days at least. This. It never fails that people's phones brick, or all their data is lost on launch day when they try and update on release day, and apples servers are crushed. PLUS, I won't update until there is a jailbreak. I have a couple 100% indispensable apps I use that I can't live without. |

You can set up a group that are allowed to go through. For example, I have a Family list. Those calls and texts with alert me (with the normal ring) all others will not sound. The calls and texts just show up as missed. I set mine for between 11 pm and 5 am. |
