Just received my 1st order.  I need to lose some weight and I'm excited to try it.

Anyone here tried it before?  I handpicked my own meals and such, and it'll be interesting to see what it tastes like.

1500 calories a day...this is gonna be very interesting.

get ready to be hungry.  it's just another calorie in vs calorie out thing that does the thinking for you, nothing special

Hope you like it, my stock in the company needs to go up.

You might think about adding in some exercise to help the weight come off a little quicker.  In a couple of months you will be like me.  210lbs. of raw sexual energy.

It usually lasts for most people about as long as it takes them to get to the dinner entree on the first day, and they look at how little is there and say "You gotta be shitting me!!  This is it?!?!?"

My neighbor keeps getting that stuff delivered.  I swear she is bigger now than when she started.

I think she is cheating on this diet.

Well, I guess I'll be taking a more long-term approach.  $320 worth of food isn't gonna go to waste!

That's cause she hasn't figured out that you are supposed to substitute this for your regular diet, not add it to your diet!

My brother's GF tried it and lost a respectable amount of weight.

I never heard anything about portion size though. YMMV

Good luck

curious HH, but what sort of food is in the package?

I have always been curious to see if it looks as good as the tv commercial...

I know a couple co-workers doing the same thing right know and they are doing well and really like the food.

Good luck with your endeavors.

What do they do to help mitigate muscle loss?

Had a friend who did it.

He got skinny for the first time in his life, but a few months later when he quit getting the food, he put most of the weight back on.

Possibly worse I'd imagine, if he lost any muscle mass.

I've lost tons of weight before my just restricting Calories (no other thought given to the nutritional content) and it worked...but I gained it all back and then some. Oops. I learned why, later.

I've lost 56 lbs on it with exercise. I don't think it tastes bad, and it saves time for us.

YMMV.

Anabolic steroids.

I used it and it worked fine.  You just can't cheat, and most do.  I lost 20 lbs in a month and a half.

Portion sizes are fine.  Just add salad/broccoli if you're still hungry.

Don't let others discourage you, either.  It works.

How's the sodium content? I always figured they used a bunch of salt to keep the flavor somewhat palatable.

I've been on a <1200 calorie diet the past few weeks.  Already dropped about 12lbs so far.  It's hardest in the beginning then your appetite starts to get used to less food.

I don't know about that system but my staples for filling meals without a lot of calories are boneless, skinless, chicken breast (grilled), turkey burgers (wheat buns), and turkey dogs (also wheat buns).  There's lots of other low calorie food too for snack food.  Main thing is to learn how to satiate your hunger with foods that aren't full of unnecessary calories.

I lost 20 lbs on it.

Pros: Relatively easy diet. No refrigeration for entrees. Helps you figure out proper portion size and WHAT to eat (more fruits and veggies).

Cons: So-so taste. Entrees are high in salt. Cost.

Hint: When you have one of their pizzas for dinner, use a whole wheat pita for your carb serving and slice it width-wise so you have three pizzas. Use your protein serving to add more cheese. Pile on the veggies (broccoli, mushrooms, etc). You then have THREE pizzas, plus a salad. Very filling. Plus you get dessert later.

ETA: Since quitting, I've changed my habits, thanks to nutisystem. For dinner at work, rather than getting a steak and cheese sub, I get a veggie and cheese bulkie. Still satisfied, but 1/3 the calories. Look at it at a learning experience on HOW to eat.

Try Atkins + Exercise if the nutrisystem doesn't work for you.  It's easy to plot meals

This sums it up perfectly.

Edit: You learn pretty quickly what tastes good and what doesn't.

I had good luck with the liquid diet after jaw surgery . I ate a lot of tofu smoothies, milkshakes, cream soups, that sorta thing. I lost a total of 35 lbs over both surgeries, 2 weeks of liquids at a time. I haven't put any weight back on either, but I cook in accordance with Weight Watchers. My wife and mom are (supposedly) on that, and I'm the cook, so I'm on it too, I guess.

My Mom has been doing the low carb thing & has been successful.

From Christmas to Memorial Day, she lost enough weight that I didn't recognize her at first.

I asked her what she was doing different & she told me that she cut back on how much she was eating & watched the carbs. Nothing more than that.

Thanks for all you guys that chimed in...this should be very interesting.  I'm committed and my girls are great with support.

The salt content concerns me.

I just looked up (on the pkg) what things contain and stuck with a reasonable amount of foods I like than fit with what I want my intake to be. Nutrisystems is expensive, then again, I only wanted to dump 10lbs.

Luck dude.
