Anyone use ATN nightvision gear? There's been a bunch of Generation 1 stuff for sale on UBID lately for cheap. I was just wondering if anyone had ever used it.

I bought the Viper w/ headgear. It's not bad, nothing spactacular. I think it works great on a moonlit night, but as for total darkness, it only works out to about 20 ft. The Built In IR Illuminator works fine, but it has an annoying red light that anyone who is looking at you can see when you have the unit on. The IR illuminator is ona constant ON mode, so there is no getting around the red light. But overall, it's a good unit.

The Headgear isn't bad, but It's kinda stretchy, so you ahve to tighten it REAL tight, sucks if you are expecting to talk to someone, because the chinstrap needs to be tight in order not to hav ethe unit flop all around on ya.

Overall, The Viper Headmount is well worth the price.
