The site has had technical problems repeatedly in the past several days and has been down several times. I didn't want to discuss this, but I don't want anyone to think the problem was an incompetent hosting service. Just the opposite. The site has been subjected to a full-scale, well-organized, massive attack with the clear intention to bring it down. The attackers have tried repeatedly to break in, but the server is a rock-solid Linux system which has stood up to everything they threw at it and hasn't crashed since I got it in May. While our troops are fighting and dying to bring freedom of speech to the Iraqi people, there are forces in America who find this concept no longer applicable to America. I don't know who is behind this attack yet (although we are working it), but it is too professional to be some teenager working from a home PC. Given that all the hate mail and threats I get come entirely from Republicans, I can make an educated guess which side is trying to silence me, but I won't say. And I won't surrender to cyberterrorists.

Hate mail from republicans?

I'm calling BS.

Why do you call BS on that?  Are Republicans incapable of childish attacks?  I remember that quite a few Republicans on this site were rather upset at electoral-vote.com when they changed their methodology for counting polls.

the guy who runs that site is a democrat with an agenda.  he's been trying to skew the map in order to encourage kerry supporters.  this nonsense just further proves it.

Yeah, it was pissed of Republicans who hacked the site and changed the final projection map to solid blue with a 538 to 0 electoral vote win for Kerry...

Exactly.

Anything from a Democrat is constructive criticism. Anything from a Republican is hate mail. I'm guessing that the people e-mailing him are not declaring a party affiliation in their e-mails. "I'm a republican and I hate you..." I call bullshit.

I call BS.

Republican attacks? The only attacks I hear about are defaced Bush signs and shot up campaign headquarters. The Republican office in Pensacola was vandalized in the last week. THEY (the jackasses) are the aggressive anti-freedom attackers.

Anybody who nows anything about 'hackers' (although cracker is the correct term) knows that hackers with conservative politics are slightly less common than hen's teeth.

Well, if the Old Media can report (seriously!) that the PotUS was wired with a comm device, then I can claim that this lone democrat changed all the colors and CLAIMED he was hacked by Republicans, who, as stated earlier, would certainly have changed the map to give Kerry the big win. (to make some weird point?)

Matter of fact, when the "wired Bush" story broke, that day it was reported and commented on by Electoral Vote.com. No counter theory, just a "Aw, shucks, it's possible, isn't it????" Interesting that that very page makes no mention of other events like the FIRST Democratic Election in Afghanistan EVER, al-Sadr goons laying down arms as Coalition forces are hitting other rebels. Sure, that he can't post, but he can cry like a baby when he's SHOWERED by hate mail. Funny, I have yet to hear about Kerry Edwards state HQs getting shot up!

Is it possible he changed the map as a joke and posted it by accident???

Rock solid Linux?

No such thing exists. In fact...the aforementioned teenager working from a home pc might have even written some of the code that is running in that box.

And if it's rock solid, why the repeated technical problems?

I work for a few isp's and we hunt attackers all the time from DOS to Spammers,  you name it.

Nonetheless...why can't you find who's attacking you? Cyber attacks are pretty easy to hunt down with good intrusion detection software.

So spend a few bucks, instead of just relying on your "free server software", get some decent ID software, which was made by some of those evil big businesses, and find the monkeys that are bangin' away on your site. Then you're socialist pals can go hunt them evil republicans down!!

Oh ... and don't be throwin out the good name of our boys in the field and try to equate ANYTHING they do to your situation. Thats just pathetic and wrong.
