Grabbed a Humidor on sale last week from Famous.
Came with - I assume - a less-than-optimal humidifier. Followed the instructions (shot glass of distilled water + 50/50 distilled/propylene glycol in the humidifier) and the % will not get above ~62. How often do I have to re-moisten the foam humidifier? Or am I doing something completely ass-backwards? I went back yesterday and looked at the instructions, told me to put moistened tabled salt in a ziplock near the hygrometer and it should hit 75% in 6 hours. It never went above the 62% mark. Sorry for the newbie questions. I'm surprised that this isn't working for me, cigars are clearly a popular hobby/past time, and the instructions were not too difficult at all. |

if its an analog hygrometer you might need to calibrate it. do the salt test again and after your finished with the test there should be a small screw2 on the back of the hygrometer and you turn that to calibrate it.
and as elderboy said get some heartfelt beads i am going to be changing mine out for something from heartfelt beads here very soon. |

Those? Looking at the tubes on the middle of the page. I just set it in there instead of the humidifier? And how often do I have to replace them (approx.)? Thanks. |

You never have to replace the beads. |

The more beads the better, because it helps the humidity to recover quicker when you open the lid. |
