Nice Roman vs barbarian type sword play.  A few nice nudes scenes too!

What are the chances of having two separate tv characters named Guyus?

Less swearing but more neeked women.  Kinda weird though for a woman to be neeked in front of her son.

I'm really hoping this one turns out to be almost as good as Deadwood.

The first episode was similar in that so many characters were introduced you need to watch it a second time to get a real sense of who is who and what is going on.

I've already set the DVR to record the entire series!

I wasn't impressed. The opening credits are very odd.

The moment I saw it I told my wife, "That's his mother". Wife said, "Must be an Italian thing".

I like it, they paid a lot of attention to detail.  The clothes, uniforms, and the dirty environment.  The nice perky nipples are a plus.

I was thinking about subscribing to hbo, but is it worth it just for the occasional movie and this series?

Best entertainment for your dollar are the HBO mini series.

Sopranos
Oz
Wire
Deadwood

Some people like Carnivale and Six feet under but both of them are too weird for me.

Seemed there was alot of attention on the nude scenes on the commercials for it.

Ah, I miss Deadwood.  I wonder if anyone ever counted howmany times cocksucker and f*ck were slung around on those shows.  I'll be the number is awfully high.

No, then you have to get a bong and stick the drink up your ass.

A man of learning unfamiliar with the common Latin name 'Gaius'? For shame!

But I agree, HBO miniseries tend to be outstanding. I just wait for them to come out on DVD; cheaper to pick and choose which series I want that way then to pay the extra for HBO. Besides, my Tivo is getting beaten to a pulp keeping up with SG1/Atlantis/BSG.

You have to know a little about the time period and you have to watch it at least twice until you get your bearings.  Listen carefully to little brat Octavius.  He outlines the plotting and the politics that are occuring.

I tried getting 'into' OZ a couple of times but couldn't help thinking the characters were 'liking' it too much.....

And as far as the drinking game for 'Deadwood' that would be a great idea!!!
Deadwood is my favorite, I can't wait for the new season.. Any idea when it starts????

The battle scenes were well done.  Cool how they showed the Romans cycling fresh men up to the front of the shield wall.

How many people in the US are named:
Michael
John
George

Gaius and Cassius are probably the Roman equivalents.
