When I was in high school in the 70s, the local paper said the police department was racist because they had one of these at the entrance to the firing range.

And they were training to kill blacks because they were shooting black targets.

After the article was published they painted the lawn jockey white.

Our IDPA/USPSA targets are all brown.

No shoots are either white, black, or brown targets with black empty hands painted on them.

If anything, I'm training to not shoot black people, especially if they have their hands up. BLM should be beyond happy.

Yeah if you use the Google and search black guy target it links a few to a storm front download page. Apparently it's a target with quite a bit of racism involved. There were also modified black sillouets holding a gun sideways with a dew rag and tats

It started in the late 80's. Most of the targets we used after that were either shades of blue or green, sometimes gray. But, this is nothing new.
