If you have not looked at NetFlix in a while take a look again.
I signed up and For about $9 a month I have more to watch then I could ever watch.
I'm planning on dropping my DirectTV and saving a bunch of money.

Even nicer is that a lot of manufactures are making there devices
(TVs, Blu-ray Players, etc) capambel to play the NetFlix streaming video.

I just wanted to pas this along for the ones (like me)
who have not looked at them in a while

Netflix is freaking sweet. Especially if you get their HD stuff.

What download speed do you need to stream ?  I heard anywhere from 5Mb to 25Mb/second (SD/HD).

I use Bright House cable ISP and at 1Mb/second download rate, I don't believe I have the speed to stream...

I have 1.5 and it streams fine.  Not HD, but it looks just fine.

am still trying to figure out out to get it to stream to my TV. The wife unit just ordered a netflix subscription. The kiddo has a movie playing on her laptop.

I WANT IT TO STREAM DIRECTLY TO THE TV!

The wife and I have had this for a few months and we love it.  Nothing to watch on TV?  Just stream it from the computer.  It works ever time, no hiccups.  NetFlix adds more movies to the streaming section every week.

ETA: We have a Fios Internet @ 25mbps and the signal comes in, via blue tooth, from her computer to our Blue Ray player.

You need a TV with netflix streaming ability built in, PS3, Wii, etc, or a box like Roku or others.

I have a mac and it is retarded that apple hasn't set up frontrow to add in streaming services like netflix. I suppose they're holding off while they attempt to sell the same shit through itunes.

Netflix rocks.

I've got a Wii in the bedroom and a blu-ray in the living room, plus pc's through the house.

Plus my Ipod.

The only bad thing is that you can only stream 2 devices at once. :-(

The blu-ray (samsung bdp-3600) is the shit. Comes with a wireless adaptor, or use a lan jack - it has built in memory for blu-ray live... and while not all netflix content is in HD, quite a bit of it is...

There is some artifacting in very busy environments (like the jungle while watching lost) but for the most part, it's crystal clear.

Best $9 a month that I've ever spent.

My 3yo is addicted to spongebob and scooby-doo - she can watch them to her hearts content, leaving mom and dad free to watch what we want... it's a grand thing.

I never knew that (only 2 at the same time)

Though if it ever became a problem I'd just order a
2nd subscription and still be ahead of the game

... but through the web browser, not through the frontrow app that you can operate with the remote control, right?

The best part about Netfilx is the fact that I'm in one city, my son is in another, my daughter in another.  They both have my account info and both enjoy the hell out of Netflix.

Any Recommendations on a Sony player (with NetFlix built in, I do Not need wireless).
The rest of my stuff is Sony so If I stick with them the remotes work together.

If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch try http://hipporemote.com/

you can control everything on you Mac or PC and there is a profile for Netflix. You can launch you browser and go to Netflix's site with one tap.

We have Samsung in our house.  The guy at Fry's recommended sticking with the same brand to eliminate any compatibility problems.  So far he was right.  Sorry, I can't help with the "Sony" thing.  The built in NetFlix part was advertised on the outside of the box.  Just look for the logo.

Apple TV or Roku Player, both under $100

We use a PS3 and it's a sweet setup, but not worth it if you don't play games.

Sony requires that you buy their proprietary wireless lan device, a $15.00 lan adaptor will not work.  The Sony lan adaptor runs about $80.00.  I have a Sony BR player with Netflix capability but i still had to spend an additional $80.00 to be able to stream movies.  I will say that Nefliix streaming is the shit.  I hardly ever watch network TV except for sports.

The Apple TV only does 720p.
