I'm a lab assistant at the local community college, and I can't seem to resolve this issue: one of the ATI AiW X600's can't go to the mode 1440x900.
However, there are seven other computers with the same exact hardware that will. I updated the graphics card and monitor drivers, and that didn't help one bit. Any suggestions y'all recommend before we just settle for 1280x960? |

Ensure the particular monitor connected to that computer will support the desired resolution. Assuming both the video card and the monitor will support the desired resolution, you are left with drivers and you appear to have that covered. He has other systems with identical hardware that work fine. It is puzzling. Have you verified that the monitor is exactly the same model number as your working systems? It might just look the same. |

Try changing your refresh rate and see if any additional resolution options appear. (Start >> Ctrl Panel >> Display >> Settings >> Advanced >> Monitor)
If that doesn't work, in that same Advanced window, there should be a special tab that is put there by your graphics driver (Mine Says ATI Catylist Control Center). In there are many advanced options, including the ability to force the display adapter to a specific resolution and refresh rate. In most cases, you can even specify a custom resolution. |
