| In the past couple of weeks, when I flush the toilet,it seems the pressure is not as great as it used to be. The waste water goes down as if it's clogged (rarely creates a vortex anymore) but it does not seem to be clogged. Occasionally it will flush normally. Could this be a sign of pipes starting to clog with roots or something else? |

Are you sure it is not your flap valve? Is the flap valve opening enough to let a large enough volume of water into the bowl to cause it to siphon? Sometimes the strap/chain stretches enough to allow the flap valve to open and let water into the bowl, but not enough volume to let it work right. You might want to check this. |
| Hey 338winmag, I do notice that the flap valve is pissing a small amount of water when I walk in the bathroom. I am due for a rebuild for all new tank components. Thanks for the heads-up. Guess I'll head for the Home Depot when I get ouy of work. THANKS 338winmag. |

if you have hard water and it's an older toliet, the insides can get plugged up Get some stuff that disolves hard water and pour it down the INSIDE of the big tube in the tank this will go directly into the rim around and open up the holes. I had exactly this problem and this cured it. |
If you have a low-gallon flush toilet that barely flushes when it is working normally, don't rebuild it, replace it. I recommend Toto or American Standard. I say this because I rebuilt two that I should have replaced...... I went with American Standard and they will flush stink pickles very well.
