I have a : 1991 GMC Vandura G3500 1 Ton 350 (5.7L) K series 4L80e Automatic Transmission About a month ago I started having a problem with the speedometer where as the speedometer would intermitantly drop to zero and the transmission would drop into low. Things that I have found and replaced.. I found the input/output connector leaking oil on the transmission. I replaced it along with the filter and oil while I had it opened. - Harness assembly Internal and External $199 - Filter and gasket $35 - Fluid $18 Told to replace the two speed sensor on the side of the transmission. - Sensors ($60 each) $120 total Had to replace the Speedometer cluster panel because the odometer would not reset and the problem was known to be related as intermitant. - Speedometer cluster $332. After all this it is still is a problem.. I'm being told that it has to be another speed sensor problem. The part stores keep coming up with this big round speed sensor not on the outside of the tranny. Question is now. Do I have another speed sensor hidden inside the tranny? I cant find a book locally on the 4L80e transmissions.. |
