Did you get an invitation to the baptism?
If so, is there a picture of his parents consuming alcohol. Might want to get him a gift certificate for a 'shrink'. a-bare J/K.....how about a 1 oz. bar of silver with some engraving on it. His name, date, etc. |

Don't go too crazy with the baptism themed stuff.
Both of my kids got baptized at the same time and I have tons of stuff that is just sitting in boxes rotting in the closet. The silver coin and savings bond ideas are great. As a parent, I'd prefer things that hold value. The only thing I have left from my own baptism is the candle used..... |

I thought that was going to be an Irish Catholic joke or something, and I wanted in because those are usually pretty funny.

I like the precious metal coin or bar with engraving or Lord's Prayer Savings bonds are more for graduations of non-family member type people. |

Okay, thanks everyone. I'll get him a 1 oz. silver baptism thingy and will get it engraved, and a 1 oz. silver eagle minted in his birth year.
