Need some help here-he's about 1 year old and I want to get him something that will last and he will remember.  I'd rather not give him a gun yet since I would just be keeping it for him for a few years anyway.  What's the protocol here?

Did you get an invitation to the baptism?
If so, is there a picture of his parents consuming alcohol.
Might want to get him a gift certificate for a 'shrink'.

J/K.....how about a 1 oz. bar of silver with some engraving on it. His name, date, etc.

I know it's a joke, but I don't get it.

A little help, please?

ETA:  Savings bonds are always good gifts for kids.

apmex has a 1oz coin with the lord's prayer on one side and a large place to engrave on the other side.  That is my new go-to present for a baptism.

Don't go too crazy with the baptism themed stuff.
Both of my kids got baptized at the same time and I have tons of stuff that is just sitting in boxes rotting in the closet.

The silver coin and savings bond ideas are great.
As a parent, I'd prefer things that hold value.
The only thing I have left from my own baptism is the candle used.....

Aw....I was just having a laugh at someone elses expense.
My apologies to the OP of the other thread about the invite to the baby shower.

Oh, gotcha.

I thought that was going to be an Irish Catholic joke or something, and I wanted in because those are usually pretty funny.

engraved Bible
I like the precious metal coin or bar with engraving or Lord's Prayer

Savings bonds are more for graduations of non-family member type people.
