I installed the Modern Warfare 2 and of course it wont let me play because my computer sucks.

A window popped up saying my driver doesnt support shader 3.0 or some crap like that.

I tried to download the update from ATI, thats the card I have I guess and it wont let me download update. What other fix is there for this. Im computer illiterate and just want to play the damn game

Thanks for any help.

Work on finding your driver update install it and restart. You could also put a little bit of your money into a nice brand new build this up coming black friday. You can really get a nice setup for little more then 500, and a really nice setup for 1000.

Just an option if you have the funds, you will be much better in game .

Yeah and now is the time if ever. New egg has a ton of sales on Black friday if you get on the site early. I picked up a really nice system 2 years ago for 1000 that runs Mod1 really good. The parts are probably no more then 400 now.

If you have an ATI card go to their website, find a drivers link and it should list models. Find out your card model, if you dont know look in system settings. That might work

if his laptops graphics card doesnt have shader 3.0 a driver isnt going to magically install it.

Do you know the specs of your laptop?

If it isn't a high-performance laptop you prolly won't be able to play it. Your video card may not have Shader 3.0 compatibility.

tell me about it, i gotta upgrade my computer about every year and a half just to keep up with all the new games. (new ones will still play but not to full spec)

people wonder why more of the cool games come out on consoles

you dont have to keep buying new expensive hardware to keep up to date.

I know how you feel. But really just save up a little and get a desktop.

Bad thing is all the Laptops out there that run these games perfectly run at like 2 thousand or more, then there outdated in another 2 years and you cant upgrade.

Sorry, but the X300 does not support Pixel Shader 3.0, only 2.0
