My dad is graduating from UF law school in two weeks. He'll be UF's oldest law school graduate ever at 67. He had always wanted to go law school, but after college he had to support my grandmother so he went to work right away. He was the first to attend college in my family, so I guess law schools seemed kind of extravagant at the time. After retiring a few years ago, he was bored out of his mind so he decided to go for it.

He doesn't have hobbies other than studying/reading history.

Anybody have any ideas? I realize that I know him better than y'all, so I should be able to come up with something, but I thought I'd see if anyone has any unique ideas.

Maybe a nice Old Timer pocket knife with the year engraved on the blade. Dads seem to go nuts for stuff like that.

Congradulations to your dad.
When most people that age are starting to kick back and take it easy, hes going full blast. [beer]
Get him a nice copy of the Constitution.

Congrats to your dad [beer]

How about an AR15 and a copy of the Constitution with the Second Amendment highlighted for the gift? [naughty]

Second the constitution copy idea.

How about a trip to a historical place?

Check with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing for special print of the Gettysburg Address here:

Put it in a nice frame.

Instead, you could just send him a million bucks. [:)]
