It's been a TON of years ago, but I found this Cannon photo backpack in a specialty Photography store. It has been the best I've ever used.

I had one of the smaller Tamrac Expedition ones and it looked weird because it was too small.  There was a funny pic of a guy with one floating around the web.  I seem to remember it was on the sidelines of an NFL game or something.  At any rate, I have a Lowepro one now and have been happy with it.  I think the Tamrac seemed more rugged, but I haven't had any problems with the Lowepro.  I notice Tamrac has a line of Made in the USA products.  If I knew that, I probably would have gone that route:

I'm a dealer. Good stuff. Not too expensive.

I got this for about $50 about two weeks ago, it had moveable padded barriers for customizing it to your particular system. It holds my 40D (normally with a 24-70mm attached), a 70-300mm, 28-135mm, 24mm, 50mm, and various filters for all those lenses. It also has compats to hold about a dozen CF cards, pens/paper, and even my owners manual.

Promaster Slingback, they offer an actual backpact as opposed to a slingback too.

My wife uses a maxpedition toadstool, which attaches to any molle pack, course it usually ends up attached to my pack

I have the Lowepro Micro Trekker 200.

Lots of room and pockets, comes with a waist strap too for added protection against bouncing around.

I have a Lowepro Mini-Trekker AW. It's nice and small, but it will hold a surprising amount of stuff. It also has the stowaway rain cover in case you get caught in a sudden downpour. And being a typical Lowepro product, it's made to last without being treated with kid gloves.

I have Tamrac 3375 and the Tamrac 3385. They don't scream camera gear and look like a normal book bag. They are very comfortable to wear around.

I usually use a Kata 3N1 20 either as a sling pack or a backpack. It will hold a DSLR (or even two if you put a camera body in the top compartment), at least three  lenses and accessories.  It works well as a carry-on camera bag when flying too.

Exact one I picked up for my trip to Disney.

Works really well, is well built, and holds a lot of stuff.

Camera items in bag:

30D body

Rebel 350 body

2 wide angle lenses

1 medium zoom lens

1 zoom lens

1 420 EX flash

a bunck of extras, ie: cards, cleaning supplies, etc.

I got rid of all of my LowePro packs and replaced them with Tamrac Expedition series. Just sayin'.
