I have a Kenmore Ultra Fabric Care, Heavy Duty 80 Series washing machine.  It washes fine, then stops.  It does not rinse or spin.   Is it shot?  Is there a part to replace?  How about a fuse somewhere in it?  I hate to have to buy a new one.  That will cut into the gun money.  Thanks.

This is the one with the belt and not direct drive right? Is it pumping water out ? If nt you may only need a pump which is around 20.00 bucks

After it finishes the wash cycle, it stops.  The knob is between wash and rinse/spin.  It is full of soapy water.  It's not making any noise, like its trying to do anything.  Thanks

If its not trying to pump out the water like a click and humming afterwards it may be in the timmer.I would empty it out turn it on its front and look at the pump. Will it spin by hand or is it froze up. You may need to take the belt off . If it wont turn by hand you need a pump. I had what I think was an 80 seris and replaced the pump 3 times in its lifetime.Leaking once froze the other 2. This was almost 20 years old when a relative gave it too us after we where first married. It lasted another 12 beforeThe bearing went out and I finally tossed it at spring cleanup. The bearing on the shaft wore out. It was only a few bucks but pulling the hub was a bitch. didnt have time to make anything to do so I bout a 20 + yearold maytag for the downstairs washer. If its in the timmer the parts are reall expensive any may not be worth it.

Looks like I'll be going to Lowes today.  The agitator thingy turns.  The electric motor shaft turns.  Not sure what the problem is.  Thanks for the help.

do a search online for your problem. I always do...and always find a reference to the exact problem and suggested fixes. Happens with cars and appliances...never fails.

search google for something like

Kenmore problem rinse spin

or the like and go from there. The internet is a wonderful place...I could live here all day..and often do.
