ok, i'm running windows xp on my laptop, which i never lend out to anyone. anyways, one of my buddies was screwing around with it, looking through my music files and crap like that, and he had a bright idea to "lock" my computer doing the Ctrl+Alt+Delete thing. i've never turned that on, because i have no use for it, but he wants to have some fun with me. long story short, he locked my computer, and now i can't get into the damn thing, because i don't know what the password is. is there any way i can get around this? |
This is why you need to use your own account with admin rights and hard to guess password, and whenever you have the urge to lend your computer with very important documents, you let the user login with a Guest account where he has NO Admin rights and CANNOT screw up your computer. Read the help files on how to do this whenever you can login again.

Did your "buddy" actually enter ANY password for the account? If he didn't, all you have to do is press Enter because it is a BLANK password. Try it. See what happens. Btw, I'd drop that "buddy" like a sack of rocks if I were you. What if you need your laptop for work? |

now i have one more question. you geniues have to know this one too, since y'all do it all the time. i've seen y'all reply to a message, and you have the actual message you are replying to in bold, and seperated by a bold line. how the hell do y'all do that too? |
Hit the quote button! |
Pick whatever post you want to quote, then theres a Quote button above that exact post. Hit it, and type your reply. One more, and I'll have to start charging. |
holy hell....anyone need anything else answrered, heres your chance.....and no i don't use spell check, because i figure y'all are bright enough to figure out what i'm typing, and i'm too lazy to go back and change a word just to please y'all.... |
