i installed norton last week and when i restarted pc, it crashed, saying hard drive corrupted. No biggie.. i reinstalled windows 7 and everything is working again. The issue I now have is that I have 2 2tb external HD's that i store music, movies and back up on.. When i open from my computer, it shows the drives. when i open the folder it says this folder is empty... did i lose all my data? and if so how can i get it back?



i had over 1TB of data stored...

Try installing drivers for the external drives or error checking...

Were these drives connected during the reformat? Is it a possibility they were reformatted too? If they weren't hooked up, they're definitely safe, and probably just need some trivial driver or something.
