National Geographic's first movie opens tomorrow:  "K-19, the Widowmaker."  True story of Soviet nuclear submarine disaster of the 60s.  Looks like it might be a good one.

How was National Geographic involved?  Did they produce it?

BTW, the reviews for it I've read are not that encouraging.  Mediocre at best seems to be the most positive.

I, too, didn't realize Natl. Geographic had anything to do with the movie.

I thought it looked pretty good having seen only one trailer. Looks like it has a good cast anyway.

On a side note; didn't Dolph Lungren star in a movie about this same incident? The Soviet nuke-sub that caught fire of the east coast. That is what K19 is about isn't it?
