According to new information beer consumption is down 11 percent 3 years in a row!!!!!!!

What is causing this ? The average American consumes 28 gallons of beer a year .

Over the last 6 months since moving into my appt I've kept every cardboard 6 pack ( flattened )

I counted the boxes and I've drank 320 beers in the last 6 months most of which are 12-16 oz

I've already beat the national average at the 6 month mark with a little over 30 gallons so approximately 60 gallons a year.

How much beer do you drink? We need to keep America a beer country !!!!!

Yup. Beer has lots of carbs and gluten. Liquor and wine don't.

I only drink liquor now.

Unless I visit my home state and go bar hopping with friends. Then I may consume a years worth in those few days.

Wait until the economic impact hits marijuana consumption.  Then you will see something.

People can't afford beer like they used to, just like everything else.  Also factor in that this is during a period of population growth, and the numbers really will hit you.

Societies attitude towards alcohol is changing dramatically.
Beers during lunch is no longer accepted in many circles
Fear of harsh DUI enforcement also plays a part. When meeting the guys for a few after work can now cost you your job, drivers license etc.

Used to be pretty commonplace for me to drink in those situations, now I only drink at home and very sparingly. Ditto for most of my friends, family and coworkers.

Stopped drinking beer and started hitting the moonshine. Nothing like a jar of good hooch. This months flavor is Apple Cinnamon Cider.

We're not in the top ten for education
Not in the top 10 for happiness
Not in top 10 for business start ups
And not in top 10 for beer consumption

We need to fix America one beer at a time

Beer comsumption, or beer compsumption of commercial beers?

Homebrewing is booming right now. I don't know if it's accounting for an 11% reduction, but I suspect it's a factor.
