Any where I ever deployed we did similar stuff. They should have a place out of the way to go rest. Failure of leadership here. Agreed. This is photo op/propaganda. Nothing more, nothing less. Think they'll be more or less likely to become voters for the party that's predominantly pushing this scam? |

Shocking show of force. The Left seems to be overplaying their hand a bit.

Yeah... im sure our founders wanted military troops posted up in the US capitol to defend against its own citizens

They are probably doing more damage to the capital building leaning their rifles against the wall than the protestors did.

That's some eastern European looking stuff.
You are gonna tell me there isn't a conference room in the capital in where they all can sleep? |

I believe that they will want to take advantage of the thousands of National Guardsmen and other forces in place in Washington DC (along with the barricades around DC) as protection for when they actually do vote on an AWB.
I believe they will do the following: 1.) Bill is introduced in the morning of 21 January, the day after Xiden's inauguration. 2.) Bill is released by judiciary committee later that day (they've already sent it to the people they've chosen to chair the committees) 3.) Bill is put on the calendar to be voted on that night, and moves to the Senate, where it's fast tracked the next day. 4.) Within about 48 hours, the bill is on Xiden's desk for him to sign, around 22 to 23 January. It might actually move so fast that the bill is signed BEFORE the text appears on Congress.gov |

Quoted: Damn they really have all those Joes posted in there without even anything to rest on, on the fucking hard ass cold floor. That looks like shit on their leadership, which given they’re in the capitol, I guess goes all the way to the top. Having armed military posted up there looks like shit anyway. It looks like some third world bullshit, or like that part in Dark Knight Rises where they are all fucking around in government buildings doing whatever having kangaroo court. Weird times. View Quote During Rodney King riots, we slept on concrete floors in a warehouse. I used my protective mask for a pillow. We spent ten days doing this. Sadly, there were barracks that could have housed us less than a mile away. Amazing how the officers had cots brought in. |

There probably just isn’t enough space available for that since several thousand of them are in the area. They'll end up being quartered in some apartment complex or hotel and being bussed to the Capitol for every shift change. The only thing that would make this better would be for an entire housing complex to be forced empty to make room for the GI's. They're shitting on the 1st and 2nd amendments so might as well tear up the 3rd too. |

Reminds me of military takeovers of many 2 bit dictators elsewhere in the world, banana republic?

If Marines were thier instead, the cleaning crew would still be finding dick drawings 20 years from now.

When you can’t possibly be more embarrassed with your government... what a fucking joke that this is happening in the first place and then being executed as piss poorly as it is.

Some officer probably told them not to sleep on the chairs or sofa. Otherwise I'd go for the sofa.

Quoted: Those look awfully posed. ETA: Are they carrying MOP gear? I don’t see a single magazine in those photos. View Quote NG troops not having any ammo/mags issued is pretty common. Throw on top that multiple members of Congress have publicly voiced concern over Guardsman being “sympathetic” to “domestic terrorists” and I’d seriously doubt they’ll be issued ammo at any point leading up to and through the inauguration. |

Quoted: No this is just what joes do when they are given time to rest and don’t have shit else to do. GD is looking way too far into these pics or has some unrealistic expectation of what the military is like. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: That is fucking embarrassing I'd love to be a fly on the wall around some of their discussions. I'm really hoping that many of them feel that way (embarrassed, and unsure about being there), and so they are affecting a lazy, sleepy posture to indicate their disdain for the duty. No this is just what joes do when they are given time to rest and don’t have shit else to do. GD is looking way too far into these pics or has some unrealistic expectation of what the military is like. Yeah, definitely no argument from me on how troops with nothing to do are going to be laying down/around. However, the imagery and picture selections are definitely trying to tell some story. But whether it's NG or just the photog, there's an obvious choice to show them as nonthreatening at possible. I would have assumed we'd see pictures of them kitted up, on high alert and ready to beat down, if the intention was to showcase serious Capitol security. |

What a shit deployment, what are they going to do all day, clean rifles and have classes? I doubt they are running patrols. LOL
