ok, so my friends slightly liberal, but open minded room mate showed him an email he recieved from a moonbat at a local highly liberal college here, well he felt it was so uninformed that he wanted to respond personally.  So, as follows their current corispondince via email:

From: Natalie ******
To: students@*********

Subject: [students] Racism and Relief

I like to tell a joke to my friend who is a gay Republican that his being Republican is like a Black KKK member.
Sometimes being an African American is like being a Black KKK member.

I always knew my government considered me and people who look like me second class citizens, despite all of the laws and protestations to the contrary.  But to so blatantly demonstrate in such an openly horrific manner has me quite honestly floored. The media calls the thousands of Afrucan Ameicans still stuck or fleeing the city refugees (THEY ARE NOT REFUGEES AND IF THEY WERE WHITE NO ONE WOULD BE CALLING THEM THAT) and guilty Americans everywhere throw money at the crises, money that will likely never see the hands of the African American citizens sleeping in refuse, terrorized by authority and overlooked (or ignored) by the federal government. Yet almost nobody is telling the truth, that if this were Palm Beach, Florida or Galveston, Texas this would not be half the crises it is now. People are dropping dead by the dozens, perhaps hundreds because a military system that can manage to fight a war  half way around the world can't manage to put a bottle of water in people's hands. When hurricane Andrew hit Florida FEMA was there the day it happened. Why did it take them almost a day to mobilize to begin helping New Orleans? Why isn't the National Guard protecting the citizens instead of terrorizing them? From AP and Rueters reports things have gotten worse since they (FINALLY) got there.
I am outraged (but not suprised) that so far *****'s response is money and not outrage.
I am ashamed to be an American.

My friends response to the first email:

Hi Natalie,

I'm Brian *******, a ******* College student, I also am gay and voted Bush.  I got your email from my roommate who is a ***** graduate.  I find your opening line pretty offensive, and I don't think it does much to further the discussion.
Firstly, Martial Law has been declared in New Orleans (http://www.wwltv.com/local/stories/WWL083105lawless.1242410b.html).  As such the rule of law no longer applies and the news media is 100% correct in calling them refugees, black or white.  That is what they are, people seeking refuge from a disaster that has sparked a military situation.  You may say that declaring Martial Law is rather harsh.  However, a friend and I have been listening to the live scanner traffic being sent by both the National Guard and the Louisiana State Police (http://67.15.74.93:12345/ left channel is NGs, right is LSP).  And I don't think you are totally informed on what is going on there.  On Thursday 4 police were killed, there was a fire in the SuperDome and the mob attempted to raid the fire trucks which had to be pulled back 3 times and were given a guard of 40 MPs, and SNIPERS were engaging the cops from a hospital roof.  The NGs face not only bands of looters, but armed and organized bands of people who have no interest in anyone's safety, and seem to have no interest in allowing supplies to get where they are going.  Rescue choppers are now escorted by military choppers because they were taking fire from the ground.
I don't know why FEMA took so long to mobilize, possibly because a lot of their funding is down due to the Iraq war, something which I don't agree with.  Fema is currently spending $500 million a day on disaster relief, and they only have $2 billion to work with.  I think today was the day their funding would run out, and I don't know the result of the voice vote from the Houses to grant them another $10 billion.
The National Guard is not terrorizing the citizens.  The moment they took up arms against them the "citizens" became enemies of the state, and must be erradicated.  Anyone who is not actively engaged in looting or fighting the guard is a refugee, and will be moved as quickly as possible.  I have a friend living in Huntsville Texas, 400 miles away who says that refugees have started arriving there and jacking cars and generally terrorizing the populace.
You say you are ashamed to be an american, well I am ashamed that the liberal element in this nation resorts to politicing in the middle of the greatest natural disaster to ever strike this nation.  When I first heard about the looting I actually thought the refugees and looters were white, having gotten all my information from radio, where the conservative hosts were in fact being COLOR BLIND.  It wasn't until one of my friends told me they were mostly black, that I had any idea.  I later heard that the city is 76% black.  The first reporter I heard even MENTION race was Wolf Blitzer of CNN, who I think was quit condescending about it.  "And these people are so poor and so black, I think this will raise a lot of questions."  The only question in my mind is why did these people arm, organize, and attack the people who were sent in to rescue them?  That is what made this such a crisis.  Frankly, I am ashamed that you are an american, someone who would sit here and politic about a non-existant issue while those people you empathize with are attacking and killing our boys (many of whom are from Washington and Oregon guard troops), some of which JUST returned from a tour in Iraq, but went to help with disaster relief.

I don't know you and you haven't the least idea who I am.

First of all I have the utmost respect for law enforcement, I am going to apply to the NYPD after graduation, it has been my life's goal. If my knees weren't shit I would be in the army right now.
Secondly, refugees in the present meaning, are people from one country who flee to another for various reasons. These people are American citizens, Black American citizens not Haitians, not Cubans. They pay taxes and are not looking for charity merely for a return on their government's promise.
Are you black? If you aren't I will thank you not to lecture me on what to be enraged about and what not to be, because you have no idea. I am not politiclisizing the issue, I am saying exactly what all of my fellow African American and Hispanic friends are saying. We love our government, we respect our military (I don't refer to  them as "boys"). Its our government that feels otherwise against us. Newsflash, you too. If it took you three days to realize that not only is Louisiana is 76% black and most of the victims left in the city  the poorest of that faction, you are the uninformed one sir.
If you think race is a non-existent issue you are either very sheltered or in serious denial.

I am not sticking up for the thugs who took advantage of a catastrophe, but when you leave people stranded, helpless, thirsty, dirty, hungry and miserable they are going to be violent, they are going to react and they are going to strike out at the arm that left them in that condition for almost 5 days.
I was and am all for martial law in such a situation but where was it 4 days ago?

Don't thank me.
And ******* if you disagree with me, fight your own battles, don't ship my emails to somebody else so they can yell at me.
Natalie
P.S. I love how a conservative can chastise me for "politicizing" a natrual disaster when the president they voted for constructed an entire campaign by taking advantage of 9/11

He again responded to her rantings:

  True.

 Honorable goals.

Secondly, refugees in the present meaning, are people from one country who flee to another for various reasons. These people are American citizens, Black American citizens not Haitians, not Cubans.

 http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=refugee
It is perfectly appropriate to use the broader sense of the word, but I realize that ***** students tend to keep their own dictionary when it benefits them.

They pay taxes and are not looking for charity merely for a return on their government's promise.

While this isn't the issue, the poor (myself included) do not pay federal tax. (reminds me of the whole "Tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% argument", you can't cut taxes on a person who is paying taxes, without giving them money, which would be redistribution of wealth, and I think we have enough of that already.)

Are you black? If you aren't I will thank you not to lecture me on what to be enraged about and what not to be, because you have no idea.

I realize this is the mainstay of racial politics.  And an appeal to the subjective nature of the heart like this is simply an avoidance of the facts you are facing.  If you only are willing to engage other blacks, then how do you expect to grow beyond your own insular group?  Try listening to the Larry Elder show sometime, he is a black conservative based in LA, and from what I have heard from him on this issue he would disagree with you.

I am not politiclisizing the issue, I am saying exactly what all of my fellow African American and Hispanic friends are saying. We love our government, we respect our military (I don't refer to  them as "boys").

I don't think that there is any sort of degradation in calling our military "boys".

Its our government that feels otherwise against us. Newsflash, you too.

I don't feel that way at all.

If it took you three days to realize that not only is Louisiana is 76% black and most of the victims left in the city  the poorest of that faction, you are the uninformed one sir.

I happen to have a job which I work at 10 hours a day currently before school starts.  Also I realized the racial situation on 8/31/2004 at exactly 6:58:29 PM.  I would say that is 1 day after the flooding started and the problems in New Orleans really began.

If you think race is a non-existent issue you are either very sheltered or in serious denial.

Race isn't a non-existent issue, however searching desperately for a racial motive in a natural disaster is.

Did you even read the article?  Martial law was declared ALSO on the 31st.  These people hadn't been left for days, they had been left for less than 48 hours. And you say I am uninformed?

  Don't thank me.
And ****** if you disagree with me, fight your own battles, don't ship my emails to somebody else so they can yell at me.

He didn't ship anything to me, he just had me read it because he likes to get a contrasting viewpoint from time to time, something I would encourage anyone, left or right, to do.  I just thought it warranted a personal response, because it was so uninformed.

  Natalie
P.S. I love how a conservative can chastise me for "politicizing" a natrual disaster when the president they voted for constructed an entire campaign by taking advantage of 9/11

Here is where you really get me Natalie.  HOW is a natural disaster, something that has no motivation behind it, something that just happens to people, ANY WAY SIMILAR to an attack carried out by the enemies of our nation and planned over the course of years.  How?  9/11 was the furthest thing from a natural disaster.  Was Pearl Harbor a natural disaster?  This is ridiculous.

It's quite possible to have conservative politics, even while engaging in behaviors we find objectionable. I met a gay man who didn't support gay marriage. How's that for a curve ball?

If your knees are too shitty to be in the army, chances are your knees are STILL going to be shitty for the NYPD. Also, racism doesnt fly well with police applications and she seems to be an openminded so not racist that she IS racist. "Black people are oppressed by white people, and only black people can talk about it because only we know". Yeah, guess we will just take your word for it you dolt. Way to try to further racial equality by segregating yourself from every other race.

She's totally insulated from what's really going on. It's being filtered down to her through her institution. I went to a liberal school, and a lot of my friends were ROTC. They were frowned on by most of the student body. They'd take her and throw her around like a rag doll for her attitude. No way would she survive in the military or a LE program.

What could straighten her out: a week at Quantico or Navy OCS with some of the big DIs I encountered. Holy shite, she'd be on here apologizing for her idiocy.
