This should be easy and satisfy most everyone. 1) Make an announcement that 14 months from now anyone who employs an illegal alien will be subject to a $10,000 per day fine per illegal alien (including people who employ illegals in their home). - This will have the effect of eliminating virtually every job in the country for illegal aliens. No jobs, no reason to come accross the border. 2) Over the next year set up 2000 booths at various border locations whereby 10,000,000 photo/finger print ID cards would be handed out to the first 10,000,000 Mexicans. Those Mexicans who can show prior proof of employment in the US can sign up during the first two months. The ID cards would also have ID numbers that would act as Social Security numbers. There would be a National ID data base accessable by the Internet showing photos/fingerprints, etc. 3) Employers can only hire individuals with cards and must pay at least minimum wage and must withhold taxes, etc. Card holders who do not show any employment for longer than a month or two must return to Mexico or if caught in this country are then and only then felons. 4) Any card holder who serves four years in the US military and their immediate family will immediately be made US citizens provided that they speak English. 5) Any children born in the US to a card holder are not citizens unless one of their parents is also citizen. 6) Children of two married card holders are allowed in the US and may go to local schools The family of working card holders receive what ever free health care that is also available to anyone else (US citizens). 7) Cards are revoked for any number of legitiment reasons including commiting a felony. 8) Card holders are not allowed to vote. This sounds to simple. What am I overlooking? |
