Gotta love the Varminter.    Awesome gun.   Very nice family you have.  Good luck with it.

Just got it this weekend so I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.  The scope is just a 6-24x BEC.  It is all I had to put on it right now.  I will be looking to put some quality optics on it as soon as I decide what I want to put on it and come up with the money.

hakim,

Get that scope mounted down lower - closer to the bore line.   You'get do much better in accuracy this way.

I actually needed it to this height to get a comfortable cheek weld.  Don't you worry I am sure I will still be able to shoot the titties off a tick with this baby!

You will. I brought a Varminter when Bushmaster first released them. I thought it was the coolest looking AR I had ever seen and I had to have one. It also ended up being the most accurate AR I ever shot. Your mileage may vary, but that Varminter will put them through the same hole all day long.

I ended up trading mine because (I thought) I had to have a Fal. Worst mistake I ever made. I have sold/traded more guns than I can remember, but that varminter is the only one that I regret trading to this day

Enjoy it.... and post range reports

If that set-up is what you need to give you the proper cheek weld, you are either doing something wrong or you have an extremely large head.

Which is it?

As I had mentioned above , it is just a BEC 6 x24.  It is all I have to put on it right now.  Will be getting a nice scope for it when I figure out what I want to put on it and get the money up.

edited: Are you talken about the bullpup?

I have fairly wide cheekbones and I have to mount scope high on an AR to get a proper cheekweld. I can't even get a sight picture with the scope mounted low...

I agree though that lower to the bore line is always more desirable when you can do it.

If I had to have one bitch about the AR platform, at least for me, it's the necessity to mount optics high because of the buffer tube...

I can live with it though.  I still get sub-MOA from my AR's without breaking a sweat.

What kinda trigger did you get?

What's the rifle at the bottom of the picture?  The bullpup one....

I found it, a Bushmaster M17S, right?

You've obviously added a bunch of stuff to it, so what mods/extras have you put on this rifle?
