No bear claws?

Lame

I don't think you can claim to be a bmx rider from the 90s without bear claw shin scars

20.1lbs.

Haven't reweighed it with the fat seat, but shouldn't be too horrible.

I got that shit beat back in the 70's.

You weren't a real ramp jumper until you bent your banana seat in the middle then had to jump with NO seat!

Did exactly that!  Race Inc. frame, landed really hard once, broke the seat post and clamp area clean off!  Machinist friend down the street welded it solid with a plug.

Popular KKT pedals from the '80s.

California Lite pads.  Made your bike lighter for higher air.

No, it's not - you're right about that. Tore all 4 ligaments and dislocated my patella. Felt like I was about to fall off the bike so I put my right foot down in the rhythm section. My foot did not budge, but my leg did. I had immediate LCL surgery, and 2 weeks ago I had both my PCL and ACL replaced with cadaver grafts. They were completely shredded. I was lucky though, sometimes a dislocated patella can hit your artery causing your leg to bleed out, then it's amputation time.

I can't speak for OP, but if you were to build the bike I posted you'd probably be around $1500-$1750. I bought it used however, much better deal.

BMX bikes are usually crazy overbuilt, see 48 spoke wheels and other bomb proof kind of setups.

People who try to go light usually just end up breaking stuff.  20 lbs is fairly decent for a BMX bike.

Guy I know has two daughters that race BMX, he told me he just sold one of their race bikes for 1200.00.....for a used bike! He rattled off a list of all the high end race parts that were on the bike, the only name I recognized was Haro, but It's been a long time since I messed around with BMX bikes.
