Why does it cost so darn much?
Does it really cost 5.11 $30 more to make pants with Multicam fabric than khaki? |

If you think that's expensive, price out Goretex Multicam. It's just the ticket when you are going to be ("Crying in the Rain" by Whitesnake, for the video-impaired among us) I've got a pair of surplussed Gore tex multicam rain pants. Cost about $80. Awesome. |

Awesome. Nice. I've got a set of surplus Gen1 DCU Gore that I bought specifically for spring snowboarding. I'm a middle-age newb wearing cheap camo weather gear and riding a nice but used Gnu deck with corny vampire graphics. My helmet has an ARFCom zombie BFL. The whole appearance is deliciously trashy. ![]() Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

You gotta make hay while the sun is shining. Once surplus scorpion starts showing up everywhere, no one will care as much about multicam. Well, except for the extreme SOF living history detachments. This...Scorpion IMO is going to cost Crye a lot of money. |

Right now, multicam and scorpion ate consisted the same thing by the Army and the Army won't be releasing Scorpion rights to the industry. So, all the aftermarket and COTS gear will still be made in multicam. Additionally, multicam is used globally. The only scorpion stuff will be the actual uniforms for big Army. Everything else will still be multicam. |

They seem to have no problem with companies making UCP stuff, even having it for sale at Clothing and Sales stores on post. |
