Mouse guns make excellent range toys.  Besides that, they are great for hunting, hunting insects and such, that is.

.25 ACP can be very inexpensive to shoot if you reload, I like very light loads that are quiet but still shoot holes in cactus leaves and bugs.  The bullet is a buckshot ball, no powder is used, just a primer.  The action does not cycle, so you don't have to search for the brass, it is still in the gun.  Velocity is around 300 fps and KE is in the 3 to 4 fpe range.

.22 LR works similarly in velocity and power level, using Colibris.  Like the above .25 load you have to cycle the action by hand.  Colibris cost more than the .25 loads.  Super Colibris have more noise, velocity and fpe.

.22 short has only CB caps for light loads, they are louder and have more energy than the above loads.

If you want more velocity and KE in the .25 ACP, just use some Trailboss powder.

NAA makes excellent little revolvers, they are in .22 short, LR and Mag.  Colibris can be used in the .22 short revolvers by trimming a bit off the nose of the bullet.

As always, shooting stuff is fun.

You got me beat but I'll be in your rear view mirror.

How does the Bauer shoot?

Have you tried a Stirling?

As a reloader, I'm wondering if I could make a "mouse fart" .380acp shotshell for bugs.  Like the Bug-a-salt (look it up.)

Primer only...salt for shot (would have to clean bore immediately after.)  Or something softer for shot?  Salt might be abrasive...talc?  Baking soda?  What to use for a shot cup?  Paper?

Might be outdoor use only.  Primer residue in house could make EPA frown.   And by EPA, I mean ExasPerAted spouse...

The Bauer is a gem.  Back way before the tiniest .32s (and then .380s) hit the market, when anything even close to that small was a .22 or a .25, I would routinely carry the Bauer in the little coin/watch/whatever pocket of my jeans.

I pull out my little .25s once in a while and think about what a golden age of sub-sub-compacts, pocket guns, and BUGs we are in today compared to 30 years ago (when I first started CCing daily).

ETA:  No, no experience with the Stirling.

I have a Baby Browning Lightweight. The mother of pearl grips were disintegrated in the box when I bought it. It now wears a set of Bauer pearl grips.

Someday I'll get a modern-production baby browning (so I can abuse it without ruining something irreplaceable). Cool little guns. And the thought of handloading 25acp is enticing just for the fun of it.
