It is really crazy how scarce ammo is right now.  Just thinking that it might get even more scarce is very scary.

I am one of the lucky ones who bought ammo years ago in all the surplus Cals and .22lr. The only ammo I have bought in a year and a half has been 45/70 for a old Trapdoor.

I had a very respectable stash. When ammo prices got silly ( I thought), I sold about half of my milsurp 308. Man, I wish that I had every round of it back. I still have a decent stash, but nothing like ti was or what I would define as comfortable.

If you have the means, BUY AMMO!!!

It is only hoarding if you will realistically never shoot it.  Stocking Up for shoots is just smart....

Serious question...

How long will it take ammunition manufacturers to increase supply?  In most logical business models that's what you do when demand increases.  Are there restrictions being placed on the producers we don't know about?

I think, and so do others, that someone in the government got to the ammunition
manufacturers shortly after Obama was elected and some kind of pressure
to reduce civilian production was inflicted. The government was concerned over
possible civil unrest over Obama's election. Now, the government is concerned over
civil unrest from all the crap the Senate and Congress are inflicting on the people.
I've heard some say the shortage is due to the war shifting to Afghanistan. That is
crap as well. There never was a shortage until the elections, and the shortage began
the end of December. So, yes, I think there are restrictions being placed on the
manufacturers that we don't know about.

If someone else has a better explaination, step up.

The recent CMP supply cutbacks have been a wake-up call for me. The old stuff ain't gonna be around forever and the new stuff will only go up in price.

May as well buy what I can now.

Why do you think this?  Why do you think the ammo manufacturers wouldn't be in court the very next day?  Why do you think all ammo manufacturers are keeping this a secret?  Why do you think Black Hills ammo is doubling the size of their manufacturing plant so they can cut ammo production?

I'm selling ammo. Stocked up years ago and making 300% profit is too hard to resist.

Dude....you need to quit with the ammo threads.  Seriously.

You are buying into and feeding the very rumors (500% ammo tax, et al) that are causing the ammo and shortages.  Please, I implore you, find something more constructive to discuss.   You're not helping.

And as for you two...get off the computer and don't talk to anyone for the next 9 months.  Go read a fucking book and get some counseling.  What the hell is the matter with you?
