Edited and added a better title so that people don't think I'm talking about a random dude .

Remember it well.
Tough call. Guy had balls I'll say that much for him and I always had a sneaking admiration for the guy. We Americans come from stock that never did like authority much, especially when abused. Yeah, they were out to execute him I remember that much. I don't remember having any doubt as to the govt's intent and it came as no surprise when they did so. There are those who work in our Federal Gov't who are nothing but thugs and hired killers, operating with impunity under the very nose of those who are sworn to protect us and our rights. Figuring out who the true enemy is, is not easy sometimes. This happened under Reagan also, a fact which is notable, and IIRC Reagan wanted him pretty bad. Ruby Ridge happened under Bush I. One almost has to wonder what they told about these cases as after spending 4 years in theMarines it became evident that plenty in the gov't blow nothing but smoke up each other's asses trying to manipulate the system or just plain cover their own GD asses. |

Seems like a real space cadet.
Probably didn't deserve to die, though. |
Don't forget the part about the Feds burning down his house to cover up the evidence that Sheriff Gene Matthews was actually shot by friendly fire. Kinda smells like Waco, doesn't it?
Sheriff Matthews and his family were friends of my Mother and Father. He was a great man and was trying to peacefully end the standoff when some fed shot him in the back. Then, of course, they tried to pin Sheriff Matthews shooting on Gordon Kahl. Sheriff Matthews carried a .41 magnum which I always thought was very cool and "Clint Eastwood-Like". |
Pretty big deal around here, i live 30 miles from the shootout location. Gives you chills to stand in the spot where it happened.
I guess Americans and shootouts with G-men go back as far as our countries history. Some people are just willing to take their beliefs to the next level.Even if it means a firefight and bleeding out in the street. Was he singled out by the feds for muder ?Who knows.
i found this about gordon kahl
Well, that doesn't smack of total bullshit. |
The optimist!!! HA! |
Why? Because the Feds would never do something like that? |
But its being posted in GD, so it must be true. Damn dirty Delta animals |
Are you high? Delta Force being sent in to grab some retarded tax dodger? Then cutting off his hands? Goddamn, some people will believe anything that is posted online. |
This is really funny:
"drove him to a hospital back in Medina, and then as a thick fog quickly settled in on the Fargo countryside, Gordon Kahl sped away into the night." Medina isn't even close to Fargo. Whoever wrote the above crap needs to consult a map. Kahl was a dick. |
He obviously was off his rocker, but I don't think he deserved what he got. Tough call though.
I certainly don't believe the whole hand-chopping rifle-butt smashing aspect of the second story though......... |
He shot and killed two FBI agents, moron. Why don't you try actually taking the time to read the damn article before blathering a bunch of apologist bullshit and calling BS. |
He killed two US Marshals and wounded one deputy from what i remember, story seems to have alot of BS. |
That was my error. I said "FBI" when it was really US Marshalls. As far as the BS, I don't know. I am open to parts of it it being BS (in spite of the fact that it's not shy about naming names of people who are still living), but the people around here who call BS because they just can't believe that our "protectors" would actually do something like that are naive retards, pure and simple. |
There were a lot of people from several Federal agencies looking for him and they intended to kill him, there was no doubt. I don't remember every detail of it all but I remember enough.
There is a book about it,written by two Medina officers who where there that day, i cant remember the name right now. www.in-forum.com/specials/gordonkahl/index.cfm?id=27415 |
No, monkeyboy, he killed two US Marshals.
Tell ya what freshmeat, post something worthy of serious consideration, and I will give it serious consideration. Until then, I'll have to count this up with the other space cadet stories that have been making the rounds. |
The tinfoil makes this one angry |
No, it's "Damn dirty Apes!" Geez, get it straight. |
Part's are and parts aren't. Kahl did execute one of the wounded federal marshals. That part isn't made up. |
I was trying to keep the "facts" of the original story in the response. Trust me, the PoA response was already typed and ready to be sent. |
Two points. First, before calling someone a moron you should probably get your facts straight. Kahl killed U.S. Marshal Kenneth Muir and Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Cheshire. Second, I knew one of the men who was there that day. The marshals were there to arrest Kahl, not murder him. Kahl executed Bobby Cheshire as he lay on the ground bleeding out. Peddle your bullshit somewhere else pal. |
A fact that your retarded ass was entirely unaware of until I brought it up. I made a technical error and called US Marshals FBI agents. You felt the need to comment on the article, thinking it BS because they wouldn't go so far over a "tax protester" (I'm sure all those words were just a bit much for you without pictures interspersed amongst the paragraphs) because you didn't bother to read the article and learn that he had killed two Federal Agents. That is a joke, and shows that you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Enter the internet, where everyone is allowed to express their opinions, even if they don't know what they're expressing about. |

Gordon Kahl earned himslef a Silver Star in WWII as a gunner on a B-17. He was a true American Patriot who had some strong beliefs about government involvement in our lives. Like a lot of people in America who have questioned the stauts quo, particularly those who question the income tax, Kahl was targeted for arrest and pursued in a manner that Federal law enforcement knew would be provocative to him. They very much were looking for a fight and he gave them one. They then ran him to ground, corned him in a semi-subterannean "earth home" and lobbed in tear gas. Of course the tear gas grenades, as always, burned extremely hot and set fire to the furnishings of the home and Kahl died of smoke inhalation.
All of the above is fact. Get hip kids. |
Methinks you're not going to last too long here, pal. |
Golly, I wonder what the response from your buddy "Cop1234" will be. |
Was his corpse missing hands and feet? |
They very well may have been. Reading comprehenion would tell you that I never said they weren't. The actions in question are those that were used to apprehend Kahl after he killed them. |
You have proven that beyond a reasonable doubt. |
There have been a couple books written, one by the two town cops involved, amazingly enough they do a pretty good unbiased investigation and report, Gordon's wife was still doing radio interviews a couple years ago. Another vet that returned to a communist country instead of the consitutional republic he fought for during the war and was courageous enough to do something about it. |
I'm honored to know what youthinks. Really, I am. |
I could care less. Doesnt take much to see through the BS being slung in here about one of the founders of Posse Comitatus. Hold him up as a hero if you want to; your choice. |
I don't ever recall hearing anything like that when he was killed. Nothing about that made the news at all. He was in a gunfight, and the house he was in burned down. He was an A number 1 nutjob. |
I'd really like to see his body disinterred and examined. It would put this to rest once and for all. True or false, but final. |
First, Gordon Kahl. Then, Tupac Shakur. Where will your wanton JBT bloodlust end? |
I don't hold him up as a Hero. I think he took his beliefs too far and things could have been done a better way. I am very interested, though, to know if he was killed that way. |
Kahl was friggin insane dude... |
After I shoot my 3rd Teacup Poodle of the day |

No,the book is IT'S ALL ABOUT THE POWER. Maybe it is still avalible. |
