I have a rather large document that I am editing.Whenever I make a text style change to a small portion of text that I highlight with the mouse, the change applies to the entire document.  If I use <Ctrl+Z> the additional document text reverts to previous, and the selected text remains changed, as I wanted in the first place. This is annoying, and I am worried I will forget to hit <Ctrl+Z> and mess up the document without noticing and remain working for some time.

I assume that I have enabled some linked style formatting.  Can anyone help me to disable without removing all text formats/styles and starting over?  This would be difficult, because it is a technical manual, and has many bold and italicized words interspersed throughout.

I've fought with "style" types repeatedly writing construction specifications.

Dont have any advice for you though - but it sounds like you are on the right track.
Make sure to enable autosave at a short interval......
