Any Surface Pro users?

My laptop has finally gone tits up and I need to replace it.  Thinking about going with a Surface Pro 3 but I'm interested in what current users think about them.

If you are replacing a laptop, it's a great device. I have a SP2 with 256gb storage and 8gb RAM and it blazes. Battery life and boot times are awesome with the new updates. Sleep mode actually works. The stylus is awesome and handwriting recognition is almost perfect. The new SP3 looks even better, lighter, thinner. Spring for a high end model, you will not be disappointed. It's not a tablet, I don't use it for casual surfing, it's a workhorse for real computing tasks that also happens to be a 'tablet' like device. Get the keyboard with the chiclet keys, not the soft touch keys as well, much better. I like it better than any laptop I've ever owned.

Sp1 user here, but this is spot on. It's my favorite device I've ever owned, period. We have several 3's we added in our company when they released and they seem just as good.

Cool.  I'm hoping to check one out in person soon.  I'd like to get a little hands on time with one before I make a decision.

I absolutely love my SP2 as a replacement for the full size laptop I used to lug around.  Very fast, great screen and excellent battery life.  The mechanical keyboard is wonderful.  And it looks like the pro 3 is even better.

I just picked up a SP3 and so far I love it. I could see myself replacing my laptop that I do development on but I got it for my wife. Great screen, fast a lot of ram and HDD space.

I've got one of my users at work set up with a SP1. He spends a lot of time at customers' jobsites and he used to haul around a huge laptop when he went. Now he has his SP1 and when he's at his desk he plugs a second monitor in and uses a wireless keyboard/mouse and when he wants to take it with him he just unlpugs the second monitor and grabs the SP1 and goes. He loves it and is excited for me to get him a SP3 to replace it soon.

It's too expensive compared to other really high-end ultrabooks that can also be used as tablets and are built to an incredibly high standard?

I'm looking to replace a 4 year old heavy as hell laptop and an iPad.  I would love to just have to travel with one device.

Bought a sp3 on launch day and it's been one product I haven't felt disappointed in. Solid experience all around except for some WiFi issues but I've largely figured those out.
