If you unregistered the shimgvw.dll file, you can re-register it now.

Goto Start -> Run ->

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

Basically Microsoft finally bowed to pressure to immediately release a patch for a MAJOR security flaw that has been found and exploited in Windows. They initially said it wasn't that big a deal, and they'd release the patch on their regular patch day, which is next Tuesday.

Glad they came to their senses. Basically, if a webserver was hosting an infected jpeg on their site and you browsed to that page and viewed it, your computer would be infected. Scary stuff.
