I have one of those Marathon Navigator watches and the battery died. I finally found the 395-type battery it takes and managed to pry the plate off the back of it to get to the guts, and what do I find? The tiniest little screw holding in the dead battery. Now, I have a great set of Craftsman mini screwdrivers, but nothing with a head small enough to work on this thing. It would have to be more of a very narrow chisel blade, something coming to an edge rather than a flat tip screwdriver bit. So who makes a decent microminiature flat tip screwdriver that I can add to my "Use Once Every Ten Years" kit? |
Do you have one of those sets? Like I said, I have a good set of Craftsman "Micro-Tech" screwdrivers, starting at 5/64", and I got no joy with them. |

If you take a #11 x-acto blade and very carefully snap the very tip off, the blade then works very well as a micro-screw driver. Just use the blade handle... I have also found on most quartz watches, the battery will slide out, with a little work, from under the keeper with out needing to unscrew it. Not all, but most. efxguy |
I don't own any of them, but they advertise them a "watch" screwdrivers, which are smaller than micro screwdrivers. |
