That's a picture of a homemade sear, you can make with machine tools.

Don't look at me, I don't have access or the knowledge to make one, and no desire. I do know that the sear is a homemade one, though. I have seen blueprints for one like it.

What a moron, if he thinks that it is legal. Just owning one while owning an AR15 is illegal, even if they are not assembled together.

Attention, AR15.com: This is agent Schmuckatelli of the ATF. I've been asked to pop over here to tell you that this most certainly is NOT our auction. I repeat, we are NOT trying to arrest every gunowner! And if you also want one of these, we have plenty more arrests... I mean DIASes... to sell!

Seriously, how the fuck can the ATF do shit like this? Isn't it entrapment?

That scam has been going on for YEARS. Used to run an ad in SGN, by TPF. We all called it "To Prison Fast". They since changed the name.

All you need is a RR, I guess.....

You need an FFL, pay the annual Class 2 mfr. SOT, pay the annual state department mfr fee. That makes you a machinegun manufacturer. You can build & play will all the NFA toys that you like. Simple, you got to pay to play.

If they were registered as a machinegun before 11/01/81, I believe.

I'm curious, how does one become a C7/SOT? What does it cost? What hoops does the .gov make you jump through? More importantly, can you be a "manufacturer" but not sell anything at all (read: keep and play with all the cool toys)?

I had an ATF agent on the phone about an unrelated issue. I referred her to the site and I said, "seems like somebody in the home office is putting out a hook to see who bites". She said, "sure seems that way".
