That's a picture of a homemade sear, you can make with machine tools.

Don't look at me, I don't have access or the knowledge to make one, and no desire. I do know that the sear is a homemade one, though. I have seen blueprints for one like it.

What a moron, if he thinks that it is legal. Just owning one while owning an AR15 is illegal, even if they are not assembled together.

You need an FFL, pay the annual Class 2 mfr. SOT, pay the annual state department mfr fee. That makes you a machinegun manufacturer. You can build & play will all the NFA toys that you like. Simple, you got to pay to play.

why not get a c7/sot and make the thing yourself for the 50 cents worth of aluminum, steel and roll pin involved?

I'm curious, how does one become a C7/SOT? What does it cost? What hoops does the .gov make you jump through? More importantly, can you be a "manufacturer" but not sell anything at all (read: keep and play with all the cool toys

)?

I had an ATF agent on the phone about an unrelated issue. I referred her to the site and I said, "seems like somebody in the home office is putting out a hook to see who bites". She said, "sure seems that way".
