Those little "semi disposable" rubbermaid and glad brand containers are both micro and dishwasher safe. They also can handle freezing as long as you aren't too rough with them.

They are near the plastic bags in the grocery and come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

I've had some for more than a year and it's a few bucks for three of them usually.

What is the objective here, to cook in "bulk" and store portions to be reheated and eaten later?

Pyrex glass containers only. No hormone leaching plastic for me.

Glass only.

The plastic ones turn yellow and get weird after a couple months of use.

Or just those cheapy throw away ones

From what I understand, generally the goal of "meal prep" is to Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook post as many pictures of you making and consuming little boxes of brown rice, sweet potato, and chicken breast. By meal prepping you have even more photo op opportunities.

I don' like eating plastic, or have leached food oils in the container flavor the food, so I use pyrex for my meal prep.

I've never taken photos of my meal prep to be honest. Never understood why everyone always felt the need to though.

Costco has bulk black containers that look exactly like the meal prep containers the meal prep companies use. I don't have a picture but you get 25 containers for like $8

yes, It saves time and I have meals ready to go.

I don't do the social network BS, I'm doing it because I'm working 12-16 hour days and would like something besides fast food

So as per GD, Bitch on!

OP,

I got some of those wax lined cardboard chinese food takeout boxes from a restaurant supply store.  The pack of 100 was less than 10 dollars IIRC.

same here. they take abuse and still don't leak. cheap to replenish.
I tried the black rectangle ones from amazon, the corners of the lid break.
