AR15.COM

What is up with AR15.com lately? Each time I try to access this site I get the "due to high traffic at this time" etc message. Doesn't matter what time I try, morning, afternoon, night - even at 1AM! I find it very hard to believe that many guests are online at 1AM. If this is going to be the norm this site will become worthless.

I thought that the only people who wouldn't be able to get on were guests when the total number of users reached 1000.  If you log on, I think it will bump a guest.  But all registered users should still be able to get in.  (I hope I am repeating the correct information.)

I was getting the same thing for a while but all seems fine now. I keep the site on auto log-in.

Having to log in just to READ messages is ridiculous.

What do you have against auto-login?  Unless your only access is at work...

i'm in the same situation and it is annoying. doesn't matter if it's 5:00AM sunday morning, i still have to log in. and it seems that if i don't refresh my browser after five minutes or so, i have to log in again.

since i'm at work, i spend my time reading sporadically and am finding i have to log in like 30 times a day.

I am having the same problem...Sometimes when I read something and then go back to the forum I have to relog on.
I tried going to the Profile and resetting the auto log but still same problem. What I do now is just go away for a while and then try later to see if I could stay connected

Go into your profile and where it says "Auto Login:"

Click yes and then submit.
If it is already checked yes then click no and then yes
again then submit.

I think it's great. The site has been a little snappier than even before the MD/DC serial killer business since they started limiting the number of simultaneous users. And you can't really do that fairly without bumping anonymous users when someone wants to login.

Ah, the evils of a forum that is free

I think its a good neccessary evil in order to keep the trolls and other assholes out.  It works for us for people to have to sign up.  The added hassle is more than some DUers or trolls can take.

But that damn autologin feature does NOT work for me.  Anyone care to help me out with that?  Could it be something in my computer that is prohibiting it?

logging on is a small price to pay for the benefits of free membership to this site

Auto login doesn't work no matter what I try. Any ideas?

GovtThug and -Stoner-:

Go into your profile page. If Auto-Login is set to yes, click No then yes again.

Click submit, and it should auto log you in.
