Or, I'm dumb because I can't help my child with his math homework. Anyone else have this problem? |

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: What is the concept? I'm sure there are some of us who could help. Simplify: (-10x^6)^2 x X^2 I don't even know what the upside down v things are? It's ok. You're as dum as me. dum has 3 letters At this rate you will have a Gold Star by potato. ![]() Slow your roll high speed. |

Mericà fuck math. ..... :-/
Ti-86 could be very useful. Used ones off of amazon could be had cheap. (Check with be instructors if its ok for them to use) It's cool that you're helping your child with math. Numbers aren't "dum", figure it out and help them and drill that shit into them. Being good at math at a young age could open many doors. It did for me. |

Otherwise, his next teacher might not be so generous and he'll have to learn it all over again. |

Amen. Calc 2 sucks. Calc II was the shit It was Calc III that sucked. Then things got awesome again in DifEq, Linear Algebra, and Complex Variables. Ohh, and Calc I was boring. Calc 2 was the only class I ever failed, although I haven't had Diff Eq yet so there is still time

solve this http://mathworld.wolfram.com/images/equations/GoldbachConjecture/NumberedEquation2.gif Come on only a first order diff? Heh, have fun. It's considered 'unsolvable'. It states every integer > 2 is the sum of two primes. It's only been proved for the first 4E18 numbers. |

I enjoyed Calc III...everything started to make sense by that point. Calc II kicked my ass until I understood it. Linear Eq was boring. Discrete mathematics pounded me in the ass without lube. |

Simplify: (-10x^6)^2 x X^2 (-10X^6)^2 x X^2 (-10^2 x (X^6)^2) x X^2 --because (AB)^2 = A^2 x B^2 (100 x (X^6)^2) x X^2 (100 x X^12) x X^2 --because (A^B)^C = A^(B*C) 100 x X^14 --because (A^B) x (A^C) = A^(B+C) 100X^14 |

Here's a math teacher a guy can pay attention to.
Math Doesn't suck. |

I remember my math teachers sayyng things like, "you'll use this everyday" and sitting there thinking yeah, cause my life's suddenly gonna change and I'll be needing to solve complex math equations tommorow, that until today I had no idea existed. Maybe I would've paid more attention if they hadn't been so hell bent on blatantly lying about the applicability of the shit that they wasted my time with.
That said, I am stunned daily by people that can't quickly figure out roughly what 10, 15, 20 etc% is, or decimal equivalents of common 1/4, 8th, 10th, 16th, fractions, since that is the sort of shit you run across regularly in the real world. I am intimidated to think someday I'll probably be needing to help kids with homework. |
