Police arrested a singer on racism charges after a man reportedly of Chinese descent complained about his performance of the song "Kung Fu Fighting," according to reports.

Simon Ledger, 34, told Britain's The Sun newspaper that he and his band were performing the 1970s classic at the Driftwood Beach Bar on the Isle of Wight off the southern coast of England.

"We were performing Kung Fu Fighting, as we do during all our sets," he told the newspaper. "People of all races were loving it. Chinese people have never been offended by it before."

But Ledger told The Sun an Asian man walking by with his mother hurled an expletive and made an obscene hand gesture at the performers during the Sunday afternoon performance, then took a photo with his cell phone.

Weak.

It's funny but it seems people got along better when we weren't afraid to use racial slurs as a way of picking at each other. Now every one needs a therapist to get over being butthurt when they don't win a 'Best Self Esteem' badge.

Based on the information in the newspaper article I have no idea how they plan to make that one stick

On the other hand, a very good friend of mine gets the local pondlife throwing empty cans/bottles at her and yelling such delightful phrases as "Yellow Chinky Bastard" (she's Malaysian but hey, they're all yellow, right?

) on a fairly regular basis and no arrests occur. She's given up on reporting it now and she really can't wait to go home. Shame, shame, shame

Usually Asian females don't get picked on even by rednecks/pond scum because they're all pink on the inside, and all males think they have a shot.
