MrGH took off this afternoon and won't be back until Sunday sometime. It is an annual thing on opening weekend of firearm season for deer hunting. I always do fine, however tonight, I am hearing every little noise there is to hear. They had fireworks downtown, I am assuming for Veterans Day, I swear I thought there was a gun fight going on somewhere. I hear car doors slamming, horns honking. I thought I even heard someone knocking on the door. (And no there was no one there and I didn't open the door until after I had looked out front and had my Kimber in my hand) Why this year all of a sudden am I so damn fidgety?
Well I have Mr. Kimber .45 and Mr. H&K 94 to sleep with tonight. Took the H&K out shooting this afternoon before MrGH left, let's just say a badguy wouldn't stand a chance if he walked in my door tonight.

You did remember to tell Mr. GH the password before he left right?  Would hate for him to come home and just walk in.

It's really not a big deal Mrs. GH, I live alone and usually don't pay attention to most of the noises.  Some nights though, it seems like I notice every little noise, light, siren in the distance, etc.  It's just a hit or miss thing.

Keep your kimber close, and your HK closer.

Well I made it thru last night! No worries Cody, no way he could get in the house without me knowing it was him, he left all his keys here and rode with a buddy to thier hunting spot. It's daylight now, so I just sit back and wait for a phonecall telling me he got his first deer.

Know how you feel... I'm like that when my husband is traveling, but more so since we have our son.  When he's gone, I sleep with one eye open or take the opportunity to visit my mom. She's armed, too.  So it's some comfort and company.

Glad you made it through.  I get jumpy sometimes too when I'm alone.  Nice to have a few handy tools to fend off the jitters.

Well I just got a call from MrGH, he's still out in the field and we had to stop talking many times because he would hear or see something. He got himself a small 6 pointer right before he called me, he's waiting though to try and get his doe. He said one came out of the weeds by the marsh while we were sitting and listening to dead air, but she turned the wrong way and he couldn't get a good hit on her. Well I have some meat coming home for me tomorrow, hoping we can get a doe too. If he snags a doe today, he'll have to get another bonus tag since he only got one before he left.

The thing that freaks me out when TBS is out of town,is my dog Jake. He has this strange look on his face while looking at the door. It's like he senses something or someone is out there. I check and nothing.

We live out in the country, and if I screamed,no one would hear me. But that's okay,I've got guns and I know how to use them.

MrsGungho glad you made it through the night!

Yep he is a mini-me of daddy. People often ask me if I had anything to do with bringing him into the world.

That's a great picture Mr & Mrs GH.  If I hadn't given birth to my youngest I would have never known he was related to me.  Patty
